Story

We are a group of enthusiastic physicians joining together in 2011 to serve the Burnaby communities. Regular physicians include:
Dr Kim Chen, Dr Eddie Wong, Dr Teri Tien, and Dr Denise Man.

The clinic is located between Cactus Club Cafe and Sushi Garden, across the street from Superstore/Sleep Country. Parking is available in rear. Pharmacy is on-site.

All front desk staffs can communicate in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.

The clinic utilizes Oscar Electronic Medical Records for completely paperless patient records.

Kingsway Medical Clinic is also a designated Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre.

Liquid Nitrogen is available on-site for treatment of skin lesions (warts, skin tags, etc).

Please remember to bring your BC Care Card and a list your current medications and allergies before the appointment.

Booking an appointment in advance is Highly Recommended in order to minimize wait and guarantee to be seen.

Family doctor is awesome but it’s extremely hard to make appointment there. Many times I had to call repeatedly for a few hours before I could get through. Once a specialist assistant had to approached me to contact the clinic to get information because they were not successful in calling them! The clinic should upgrade their phone system or clinic support resource, or to provide an online appointment booking system. It’s just ridiculous that patient has to visit their clinic to make appointment.
Worst doctor in the hole Vancouver area! Avoid if you can. No medical advise at all! Small issues, send you antibiotics, big issues, send you to specialist. Simple, anyone can do this job. They can tell you things verbally, but cannot make it in writing, also not allow to record. Jokes on Canadian medical system, and pathetic for people like me who have no choice but stay with them, guess what no other places take new patients.
Doctors are great but receptionist is bad. They never answer the phone. You never can call them to get an appointment. Really would rate the receptionists 0 / 5 if I could. Dr Wong should really consider getting new front desk staff.
I know the family doctors all works really hard to maintain everything in the clinic. But hanging up clients phone calls 3 times in a roll for booking doctors appointment is NOT professional for a receptionist.
So sad is no 0 star this option for the receptionist No one pick up the phone but when I took Uber arrived and walked in no any other patients there and she just used computer and seems lazy to answer my questions it’s about 6pm they open till 8 pm . I asked her I don’t have my appointment I just check which clinic still open and I feel vertigo I had doctors prescription .Her answer is oh we don’t accept new patient .I asked do you know any walk in clinic around here .even without thinking answer she doesn’t know .unhelpful and unacceptable . I went to another clinic I understand the rule but at least this clinics receptionist tried to gave me some Information if really emergency where should I go .
Not sure why this clinic has such low ratings. Dr. Johnny Su has been our family doctor for around two years now and we are extremely happy with our choice as he always listens to us and is very sympathetic to our concerns. He has successfully addressed and treated various our family's health issues over the years we've been seeing him. Front desk is always efficient and professional as well. Overall highly recommend this clinic.
Dr. Afshar has been one of the loveliest and most caring GP's I have ever had treat me. She is up to date on my chart and information when I see her, remembers details from our last visit, and has thought about my concerns outside of clinic and has new ideas when I see her next. Her approach is research guided and she provides suggestions, but never makes you feel like she is dictating. I have really enjoyed the clinic and being under her care.
I've been coming here for years with Dr. Wong. I have noticed in the past 5 years that the patient care has worsened with each visit. It has gotten to the point where I am unable to get an appointment and when I do I feel like I'm out the door 2 minutes later. Yet wait times have increased drastically and the cherry on top is that the reception staff is unhelpful and uncoordinated. Please be better because it is unacceptable.
