This place is all right. It was super busy when we went. Lots of families or solo diners. The House Special large tasted good but for a large, there wasn't enough noodles or beef items in it. I should have just ordered the regular. Lemongrass pork chop with rice was fragrant. The pork chop was a bit overly charred in some spots. Pad Thai tasted good, but portion smaller than expected. Lots of parking available.
First time here and ordered a small house special pho, lemongrass pork on shrimp crackers, and a grilled lemongrass pork vermicelli bowl. Service is fast, attentive and friendly. Our favourite dish was the pork on shrimp crackers. It's a light crispy shrimp cracker with vermicelli noodles, pork, pickled carrots and peanuts on it. Great textures and so good with the nuoc cham. The pho is a decent portion but it was a bit bland in terms of salt or fish sauce. Otherwise there was a pretty good underlying beef flavour to the broth. Vermicelli bowl was also a good portion but the pork lacked the grill flavour. Also they don't use thin vermicelli noodles but a thicker rice noodle, somewhere between spaghetti and udon size. Food is a 3.5* but bumping it up because our servers were so nice. I'd come back to try their curry dishes since I saw a few tables order that. Skip the pho though.
I've been dining here for several years and it is one of my favourite Vietnamese restaurant in Markham [ Moccowan and Bur Oak. Every dish on the menu are superb and their Pho soup based is incredibly flavoury. Also, chicken Curry with flaky roti is a must.
Review from a Pho connaisseur: I was really looking forward to trying this local Pho restaurant, unfortunately I was left disappointed. Owners are Cantonese and not Vietnamese. Server didn't want to be there. Tv playing a random Netflix movie that might be inappropriate for children. Ordered rare beef pho, lemongrass pork chop, and mango shrimp salad. Pho: soup wasn't hot and on the bland side. The noodles are definitely of the dry variety and were very al dente. The rare beef was the positive in this dish - very tender and thinly sliced. Lemongrass pork chop: average - could be a little bit more seasoned. My personal preference is for a little more char on the grill. Mango shrimp salad: Fresh and lightly dressed, so not too sweet, which I appreciate. A good portion of mango, with 3 or 4 small shrimp sliced lengthwise and scattered throughout. A few more shrimp would have been a welcome addition for the price compared to a mango salad without shrimp.
Been going here 15 years or so now. The pineapple fried rice has been tasty for all those years. Will continue to go as long as they stay open.
Restaurant is always clean. Food is always fresh. Service is always good. It is a comfortable place where you can enjoy tasty Vietnamese food!
unacceptable portion and taste for the price, definitely not restaurant quality. $13.5 for the curry beef, only a few pieces thin beef inside, vegetable taste like raw. Curry taste like water add some chili sauce. $9 for the soup only have 2 mushrooms and 3 small shrimps. Worst experience with curry dishes. Never come back.
Didn't think you could mess up an avocado shake or summer rolls, but turns out they can: Shrimp summer rolls 1 They charge $8 for 2 shrimp summer rolls twice the price of our usual place. 2 The shrimp looked undercooked. We're not entirely sure whether they were, but it's possible it looks it because the shrimp was a measly sized shrimp and at that price, they had the audacity to slice in half causing it to look transparent. 3 Made up of mostly vermicelli. Didn't even have basil in it. Avocado shake tasted like sugar water. Aside from it looking green, you can't tell it's avocado. We just wanted a light snack. Definitely not going back there to try anything else.
Crossposting on IG Easily one of our fave restaurants, probably top 3 lol. We've been missing this place since the pandemic started; first day returning and still all the familiar wonderfulness!! I always order my pho with vermicelli noodles, the servers always get what I meant; and adding nothing else but just the soup, the noodles, the meatballs and meat, muah perfectothat's number 85 on the menu btw and a side of fresh shrimp rolls with their delicious fish sauce Aside from their Vietnamese cuisine, they also serve Malaysian and Thai food. I still find they are the only restaurant that serve proper Malaysian curry and RotiI grew up with those Roti k, like I just like it crunchier and my curry with tons of lemon grass Anyway, we had a very satisfied meal lol, if you are interested in Pho, give this place a chance, you will love it!!! 5/5 for friendly services, lovely people, delicious food!!!
We have been going here for many years. Their food never disappoints. I do wish they gave you a bit more soup for take out I upgraded my pho to a large and didn’t have enough soup. They use rice noodles but not the nice fresh ones but I think that’s their only downside. Their broths are always amazing and their service is equally wonderful!
