Second time coming here, after the first trip trial run. Decided to get a mix of things two types of fudge some chocolates. The chocolates were good no complaints. The first fudge was good soft creamy and had good flavor. The second one, cookies and cream, when it was being cut I already had a feeling it was bad as it was not easy to cut. As it was being cut the knife did not glide thru it put had to be pushed thru hard. That should of been a sign to someone that sells fudge to know that fudge will not be good anymore. But still I was sold the dry and crumbly piece. All it takes some times is one bad experience to turn someone away from coming back and this is mine. I’m a huge fan of fudge but when the people selling it don’t know when fudge is at a point that it shouldn’t be sold anymore as it too old that shows me you don’t know what your doing or don’t care.
I’ve historically had great experiences with this store, but unfortunately that was not the case this time. I walked into the store about a week before Valentine’s Day to pre-order chocolate covered strawberries. I placed the order and the worker told me that typically there is a 50% deposit, but since I came into the store I didn’t need to put one down and could just pay in full when I picked up my order. The next day, I got a voicemail from the store saying they needed my deposit. When I called in, I spoke to the owner and he told me that the he had just changed the policy and I would need to put down my deposit. On Valentines Day, I arrived at the store around 12:10pm for my noon pickup time. The door was locked, and when the worker opened it for me she told me she wasn’t sure what happened in the store yesterday, but nothing was ready. She said it would take 30 minutes-1 hour to get my order ready and offered to give me a call when I should come back. Two and a half hours and no call later, I called the store myself to ask if my order was ready. I was informed that it was, so I went to the store to pick it up. They seemed very overwhelmed and put two extra strawberries in my order which was very nice. Unfortunately 48 hours later, the remaining strawberries that had not yet been eaten were covered in white mold at the top. Maybe this was my mistake for not realizing the expected refrigerated shelf life, but 2 days later to be completely moldy was a surprise to me. It seemed as though every part of this experience/order was a disappointment and I am reconsidering ordering from them again in the future.
Their hot chocolate is absolutely delicious-- so rich, thick, and creamy. My friends and I got a complimentary cup at the Wrigleyville Wonderland event, and were obsessed. They don't use any powders: just chocolate and milk. The staff are also super super sweet and friendly. I'm hoping to be back for more of their delicious hot chocolate in the future!
THE BEST CARAMEL APPLES IN THE CITY OF CHICAGO. They’re so fresh and the texture is perfect. Also, cannot go wrong with some smaller tasty chocolate treats!
I fell in love with this establishment while in Lake Geneva Wisconsin. Much to my pleasure there are a few in Chicago . This location is down from Wrigley Field and a game was taking place. Parking wasn't easy but I figured it out. Great chocolate for me and delicious ice cream for the kiddos. Check them out. Very tasty treats.
I am very thankful that this location remained open. The owner has certainly faced some challenges; the downtown location was looted and the Hyde Park location was shot at. Yet, she holds on to faith. The store is beautiful and has a wonderful aroma of chocolate as soon as you step inside. We purchased enough candy to last for a week and every bite was delish.
I love this place. They have the world’s best ice cream here—the s’more kind and the peanut butter chocolate kind. The sea foam and other chocolate goodies are incredible. I love the gentleman that’s always there. He’s always ready to welcome us with a smile. Must go!
I went in to Kilwins today after months of walking by with my dog and passing it on my way into the gym. The gentleman that greeted me and took my order was fantastic Steve I think. He was friendly and patient as I picked out some chocolates as a gift for my family. The shop also smells amazing and I’ll definitely be back for ice cream as they had some limited edition flavors. My customer experience was top notch! Thank you.

We called Kilwins and the owner answered the phone-- we asked if they made chocolate chip cookie dough bonbons. I figured they didn't, but have been hunting for some after being reminded of a particular bonbon I tried 15 years ago. He said "hm, that's a good idea! I should!" and he made them for us custom! They were delicious and the customer service was phenomenal. I'll definitely go back!
