"Kibo" means hope. And if you're hoping for tasty takeout sushi, this is the place for you! Kibo Sushi has expanded quickly with over 30 franchise locations in the GTA. Some have compared it to the McDonald's of sushi. So what's their secret sauce? They pride in using fresh ingredients, prepped to create one-of-a-kind rolls, and serving the food with smiles. From my experience, they stay true to their motto. The hope is that working hard will allow them to be rewarded. Kibo's grand maki options are no joke, and my favorite is Aburi Scallop Dragon Roll: a dynamited rolls topped with scallops, slightly torched to elevate a savoury umami mouthful. Takoyaki Tempura & Seaweed Wrap apps are also on point. All of their grand maki are generously prepped; some come with soft-shell crab or lobster tail as well. As another example: the Weston Roll is a unique offering for this location by Weston Rd with cream cheese, crabmeat, red pepper & avocado stuffed into a huge deep fried roll. Creative, and somehow the flavours work for a delicious meal. For a quick bite, there are daily specials including a Dynamite Roll + Salmon Sushi combo. Fresh ingredients shine through. For a small surcharge, it's worth upgrading to a tempera style roll for some bliss & crunchiness. Hope Kibo remains a staple in Woodbridge!
Woodbridge is really lacking a good sushi place, most of them are "average" at best. So when I saw a 4.6 for this place, it definitely caught my eye. Why only ? It's NOT because I was given a "20 min" estimate for the food to be ready, while I had to wait another 30 mins in the restaurant. And it's not because 1/3 of my order is not what I actually ordered. So why a 3-star rating? I wanted to be excited about this place, however, once again, most of the rolls were very "average". Aburi Scallop Gragod and Lobster Rainbow were ok, but the rest - not so much. Salmon on sushi is very thin. Maybe one day we'll get a truly 4.6 place in Woodbridge, but unfortunately for now it's still 30 min ride each way elsewhere in Richmond Hill.
Our go to restaurant in Woodbridge for Sushi. The staff is so wonderful, service is top notch. The sushi menu has ample of choices, try their torched scallops roll called Aburi, it’s their signature dish and taste so good. The vegan Mochi is delicious as well. Very easy to find their location, service is great and the quality of food is what makes us keep coming back!
I have ordered several times through Uber. Always excellent quality and good portions. It’s a bit pricy but worth it!
Busy at lunch time with the school students, but the lady was so kind! I wasn’t in a rush and placed the order and came back to pick it up. It was great and fresh. Loved it
Finally a fresher option for sushi in Woodbridge. For convenience and quality, Kibo will be my go-to spot. I’ve ordered the salmon+sashimi combo $16.95 twice and it did not disappoint. The sushi is really packed with rice but that’s easily forgotten when you take note of their fresh fish. Loved the salad dressing and their miso soup is good. Friendly service through the phone and for pickup. Packaging is recyclable.

This is my new favourite place for sushi! Amazing service. Our pick up order was ready even earlier the estimated time, it was very well packed. The food is reeealy good! Beef udon, aburi scallop dragon and kamikaze grande maki are Fresh and yummy! Thank you!
You can not go wrong when ordering from Kibo. Really tasty sushi, and fresh! All the fish have their own unique taste, and some of them are garnished to elevate the experience! Stop reading, start ordering!
