I was very happy with the service. The receptionists are super friendly and helpful: they always responded to my emails quickly and were very helpful over the phone and in person. For walk-in appointment I arrived at 7:50 and they managed to get me a telephone appointment at 9:30 - so arrive early to get an appointment for the day. The doctor who called me for the telephone appointment was very attentive and kind. He made me feel taken care of.
Our family doctor is great, getting an appointment with her is almost impossible though. You have to somehow get a hold of the receptionist. Calling is out. Either you call at 8:30am and the line says they are closed, but open at 8am, or call later and no one answers, or you send an email. I've sent one before and got a call while at work without pen and paper, they said they'd email me the appointment time, never got it. Maybe reply wasn't an option. Had to do it manually. Even though they got my email wrong before, I guess lessons are hard to learn. Another time I didn't get a response at all. If I could register for an appointment with relative ease, I'd give this place 5 stars. The weird thing is, every time I go in, there's either no one else there or maybe one person. It's not like they're swamped. I don't get it, but having issues calling today, again, has finally prompted me to leave a review.
First time ever writing a google review because of my experience here. This is the third time in 2 years this has happened to me with the same receptionist. The first two times I thought she might be having a bad day, or that I was imagining things. Three times with the same person is no coincidence. Despite not being on the phone, she will studiously ignore you until she feels like acknowledging your presence standing in front of her. Then she asks if you have an appointment. When I told her I didn't, she smirked, LAUGHED at me, and pointed lazily at the little sign to her left that says no more walk in appointments available. She then stared at me as if to say "why haven't you left yet?", offering no further information, long awkward silence. How about: "Your best bet would be to come in on..." or "Would you like to book an appointment? Our next available time is..." or "Sorry, we're extremely busy right now. Here are some other options..." She makes you feel like a beggar harassing her for money on the street, while laughing at you. Sickening experience. Strongly recommend that others not enter this establishment.
Before writing my own post, I read through several,of the posts on the website, and was astounded to read so many negative ones, as my recent experience was 100% favourable. In early December I took up temporary residence in Kitsilano without a family doctor, and needed a prescription refilled. I walked into the clinic off the street, was greeted by a perfectly efficient receptionist who took note of my details, and told me to expect a call from a doctor in the afternoon. Dr. Lee called me at precisely the time I expected, and issued the prescription right away. He asked me where I wanted to pick up the prescription which would be available the following day and told me to expect a call when it was ready. I did receive a call the following day as promised and was able to pick up my pills in good time. I will have absolutely no hesitation about contacting this clinic if I need any further medical assistance. Thank you.
I was hesitant to visit this clinic due to the Google reviews but ended up having an excellent experience. For walk-in, you need to line up before the clinic opens to get a spot. I was in the line at 7:50 am and got an afternoon appointment, so come early for the walk-in. When the clinic opened the receptionists were quick to get everyone set up with appointments. I returned a few hours later and my appointment was right on time. The doctor was friendly, professional, and helpful. The doctor actively listened to my issue, asked questions, and didn’t make me feel rushed out the door a common feeling in walk-in clinics. I’ve been to many walk-ins across Canada and this was one of the easiest and most pleasant experiences I’ve had. Thought I’d leave this review in case the other negative ones dissuade others from visiting this clinic.
The Doctors are fantastic, it's the reason I still go to them for years. The receptionist has been terrible for years and needs to change. My partner was waiting nearly a half hour since 8:30am when the phone lines open to speak with the receptionist but when we called on my phone we instantly got through but were told the doctor we needed to speak to was full up for the day and to try again the next day. The reputation of this establishment is being hindered by serious problems in how the receptionist handles calls. If this was just once or even twice it would understandable nobody's perfect but this has been a problem since I started using this clinic almost a decade ago. Escalation to formal complaints are pending.
Save yourself some time and try to go to another clinic, receptionist are rude you will probably wait 1 hour, if you are the first one in line, then they will try to get you a phone consultation, there's no real doctor and if you insist they will give you an appointment for 2 or 3 hours later, this women are rude I saw them mistreat a poor old lady that waited forever and they refuse to give her an appointment. It was just sad
Doctors are fantastic but as my father would say; first impressions are everything. The ghoul who tends the front counter left a sour taste in my mouth. As I'm inside the room waiting for my doctor the receptionist incessantly asks why I'm there? I was genuinely dumbfounded. It was her tone that caught me off guard. Before you pass judgment please note this was pre-covid. It's way beyond her pay grade and to be honest, none of your business. That's what I felt like saying. Worry about answering those phone calls instead of ghosting people who need help.
It’s my first google review. Before coming to a walk-in clinic I was scared by the google reviews. But all the clinics have 2.x scores and I have no choice. However, people there are really nice actually. The receptionist replied to my questions. Dr. Woo explained the prescriptions and when I told him some of them is not covered by insurance he went out to check the the prices of different medicines. The intern there is also very considerate and easy going, and I simply don’t understand what can be complained. It is a systematic problem to let people spend one day on going to doctors in Canada but specific people or clinics should not be blamed.
I was so distraught from the run around I received from other clinics that when I came here and met the wonderfully professional receptionists, and dr Ned I felt a sense of relief. He prescribed what I needed and was so sweet and understanding. I then went to that pharmacy attached to the clinic and they were all just as nice. I will be going here when I need to. Ten thumbs up. Angelika.
