Key's Cafe

Keys has an incredible menu. The food is really "Minnesotan" but improved in all ways. I personally am a big fan of breakfast foods, and they've got a great breakfast menu. Their soup is usually home made, and perfect. Attached to it is a bakery with incredible treats and coffee. They have a lot of great gluten free options as well, if that's something you need to know. Their gluten free food tastes just as good as everything else. Their kids menu is really cute especially the Mickey pancakes.

One of us was very pleased...the wait staff were sweet, the restaurant was warm and inviting, but the walleye which was almond crusted sounded great but had no seasoning but did have bones so you didn't know if you were crunching a nut or a bone...4 bones in mine...also had beans which were from a can with no seasoning and sweet potato fries which were over friend and shriveled and many of them only 1 " long. Two of us had the fish! Rave reviews for the barbecued chicken sandwich and the hot beef. We had a variety of 4 cookies and two we're dried out. We will probably tryit again but a different location as the chain has a good reputation!

Love Keys! Have never had a wait, staff is always friendly. Best pancakes and bacon! Reasonable prices. Can get breakfast all day!

The food was good. When we arrived we stood and waited about 5 minutes for someone to come up to seat us. She asked how many wife said 2 she walk back and forth a couple times and then took us in, dropped the menus and silver ware on the table and walked away. After a couple minutes someone else came over with 2 glasses of water. After another 20 minutes she came back and asked if we would like something other than water to drink. She went and got the drinks and said the waitress would be with us soon. About 10 minutes later the waitress stopped by our table and ask if we knew what we wanted? My wife answered she had to look at the menu again she had forgotten what she wanted and it was just ignored. About 15 minutes we got our food. Someone else brought out our food and another 10 minutes or so the waitress came back and asked if we needed anything else I said more coffee would be nice since my cup had been empty since not to long after we had ordered. When she came back with a pot to fill it I told her she could leave the pot she said she would go fill it witch she did after she brought it we didn't see her again in till we we're almost done and she ask if my wife wanted a refill on her empty soda.

It was ok. My bison burger was dry and not very flavorful but the waffle fries were great. The server was perfect in every way. They do a good business so I figure most people probably love the place.
