Love this place. They always have fresh bagels and you actually get to see them being made. Their bagel-based sandwiches are really good, and they have a very cozy dine-in area. And they are open 24/7.
The best kettlemens I have ever been to. The staff were super friendly and the bagel was paaaaacked. First time being filled by a single bagel. Only downside is the service is quite slow which was annoying. But the amazing bagel made up for it.
First time trying a kettlemans bagel. Tasted great but all the toppings were in the bagel hole and not evenly spread out. Location was nice and clean.

How does someone take theee most boring item on the supermarket shelf to such a delicious creation served by excellently trained staff the team that worked Monday morning November 7th, their customer service and friendliness exceeded my expectation and to top it off the ambience was absolutely exquisite. I like a good bagel and several friends told me to try Kettlemans so I ventured there this past weekend. Now I know that a Saturday morning might not be the best time to drop in but overall I was not impressed. Bagels: sizes varied, the proofing seemed "off" as they were not soft and chewy as the website describes their Montreal style and the overly dark colouring suggests over cooking my cinnamon raisin bagel left a burnt taste in my mouth. Customer service: upon stepping up to the register I didn't like the cashier's assumption that I wished to purchase 12 bagels, I wasn't offered a freezer bag as my friend was and I was ushered away before I had even taken my bag of 6 bagels. All petty I know but there was not a queue out of the door so the gentleman inside could have been a tad bit nicer. Overall: In my opinion, $1.79 is a good price for a great bagel but sadly, these weren't great.
Probably worst kettlemans store in Ottawa. I have been to all other stores, none of them is as bad as this one. Staff are friendly, but the bagel size is pretty funny, they have huge one and tiny one. That’s not a big deal, but all of their cream cheese are in pretty bad shape, the one I just bought already went bad and had some molds on it and the expire date is 3 weeks after. And then I went back to see the rest of the cream cheese in their cooler, most of them the plastic package already pops up and they still sell them. Don’t know what to say. Kettlemans in town, Bank > Trainyard > College Square > Kanata. Disappointed
Good location, delicious food, BUT Man working with the dough was itching his face then started working on the dough with his hands.. it was after I paid though or else I would have neved ordered. Please give some instructions to the employees not to do that.. I get that heat will kill the bacteria but this just looks terribls
Amazing and friendly staff. Whoever has done the hiring has done an excellent job and has really good judgment of character. We were very impressed with the customer service, the cleanliness, and the food. So, so rare these days. We will be back after such a great experience!! My mom and I thoroughly enjoyed our time here.
I love Kettlemans. I'm a die-hard for College Square and Sunnyside. This was my first time here and based on this experience, I'll never return. The store was busy and thus I expected to wait. What I didn't expect was to wait over 20 minutes with my completed order just sitting there on the counter. The staff at the counter weren't checking if orders were ready and just kept ringing in new orders. When I mentioned it was quite a long wait and asked what they would do differently in the future, the staff said, "Your food is fine. It's probably not even cold." Another customer had been waiting 30 minutes and refused new food and demanded a refund, which the staff were incredibly hesitant to give. The friend I was with waited over 40 minutes for her order and when it arrived, it was wrong! So they needed to remake it entirely. From what I could see there were 7 staff available - 2 on bagels, 2 on cash, 3 on sandwich station. Maybe this is not enough staff or maybe the cash staff were new, but this is ridiculous. A staff member identified themselves as manager and yet continued to stand around, not engaging when their young staff members seemed confused. Very very disheartened by this visit, Kettlemans. Do better.
I’ve been consistently coming here 1-2 times a week from the day they opened, with other locations for over 2 years. And while the hours of operation and location itself is amazing. In the past 2 months every order of bagels I’ve gotten, whether it be the pickup window or inside has increasingly become more and more stale to the point where I have to check them before I leave the location, as I’ve received what seemed like week old sesame bagels multiple times. As a consistent returning customer, I’m really disappointed to see quality increasingly becoming less and less worth the extra money, especially with the other kettleman locations being much more consistent in the quality of product While I understand the turnover of product has decreased since this location opened, the possibility that my weekly order of sesame bagels the most made bagels being fresh rather than stale-rock hard shouldn’t be an more uncommon occurrence as I keep coming back. Honestly the more decreased quality this place provides, I’m going to be taking my returning business elsewhere
