I wasn't able to see my family doctor because of a skin infection caused by a mosquito bite. Luckily, I was able to get an appointment here. Although I had some reservations about this clinic based on some negative Google reviews, I gave them a five star rating after my visit. Upon arrival, the receptionist efficiently checked me in and I only waited 20 minutes before Dr. Kevin Nolan saw me. He was friendly and chatty with me, despite how busy it was. In the waiting room, I saw a nurse named Donald helping a weak old lady patient walk, which really warmed my heart, especially with the pandemic keeping everybody apart. After leaving the clinic, I received a text message asking for my feedback. This makes me think that the owner of the clinic really cares about its patients, and I hope they keep up the good work.
Don’t go there. First time writing a bad review. Made an appointment in advance for 1pm and was waiting for 55 mins. Nobody was in the waiting room yet there was lots of staff just chatting after their lunch break. Highly inefficient and disrespectful of patients time. What’s the point of appointment options?? Truly puts a bitter taste on the public health care system at clinics. Does this place not have a service standard just because patience are helpless and need medical attention?!!! The worst experience ever
Nice experience! We needed a sick note for work, and even though there were lots of people waiting, the receptionists squeezed us in, resulting in minimum wait time. The doctor was also very kind and caring. Exceptional staff, good service. Would return if I get sick again :
This clinic has gone downhill and the service is just awful. You can't get through by phone.... then when you go to book online and check to see if the clinic is still taking walk ins , it says yes, accepting patients for walk ins at this time. This is the second day in a row that we have gone there and they have told us that they are fully booked. Then they tell me the website is never updated. As my daughter walked in, she heard the reception talking to a coworker and said " someones crazy mom just called in and they will be here any minute" . Unbelievably rude and unprofessional. My daughter phone me in tears. So, you can't call in, and you can't get the availability online. My family doctor is booking 6 weeks in advance. My poor daughter, with an ear infection has gone over twice in the last two days only to be turned away. We are fed up and will try to find somewhere else to go after 19 years. Totally miss Dr. Bowlsbey... Really like our GP there but her availability is not great.
One of your physicians at this clinic was ridiculously judgemental when all I needed was an prescription to cover the last two weeks of my visit in BC. The medication I was requesting is one I’ve used for 20 years and is the primary medication provided to most Type 2 diabetics before all others are suggested. Had Dr. Shim actually read my extensive medical history in BC, he would have realized this within minutes. I wasn’t requesting insulin. It was metformin, and it was not necessary to suggest diet and exercise over a telephone consult for a refill. I didn’t bother to defend myself on the phone to combat his arrogance. He did granted the refill timely. This physician reflects poorly on your clinic.
Called ahead to ask about walk-in availability and they went ahead and made me an appointment for later that morning. Receptionists were all helpful and kind. Slight wait before getting in to the doctor but that was expected, and he reassured my worries and gave me several helpful recommendations and prescriptions. All in all a good experience!
This clinic is yet another frustrating example of the failing healthcare system. I did NOT feel my healthcare needs are adequately addressed. Although the general healthcare crisis is out of the clinic's control, they fail in many ways that they do have control over. They schedule too many patients in too little time, giving 10 mins per appt. with doctors that are rushed, impatient, and prone to quick inconsiderate judgements. The walk-in doctor I saw, Dr. Das was especially unprofessional and inconsiderate. Particulars are confidential but were grounds for a formal complaint. For phone appointments, they expect you to clear your scheudule for half a day around your appointment time. My calls came in +-2.5 hours from my appointment time. They do not provide a notice when your apppintment time is running behind or ahead, expecting you to just accept it without complaint. They do not reach out after you miss that phone call 2 hours late either. The attitude when expressing these complaints is a complete dismissal as if we should be grateful that we can even see a doctor. It's utterly terrible that we have to deal with terrible services like this clinic and many others provide. I don't know if BC will ever have meaningful competition amongst clinics again.
I haven’t heard any other clinic in Vancouver as this much unprofessional and disgusting. My daughter and son-in-law moved to B.C. recently and my daughter want to get a doctor reference to book her previous province fertility centre’s branch in Vancouver to continue her treatments, but they delayed it for 3 months. After one month she went to the front desk receptionist lady weekend clinic and asked about it and without informing her they had scheduled a phone call appointment for her. She have to find a professional clinic far a way from her home and the new doctor helped her to book her previous fertility clinic in a week. Then she got a call from another fertility centre in Surrey saying that this unprofessional clinic gave them her contacts to book a clinic. Not only this, a older rude receptionist in the weekend clinic told my son- in- law she couldn’t understand him whenever he talked to her. I think she misunderstood him with someone’s else nationality because of his appearance, and this is called discrimination. At the very first day at the clinic they entered his gender as female, what he filled male as in his papers. He didn't mind it at that time and asked to correct it. In the next appointment these unprofessional receptionists filled doctor’s form as he has disability. It was an online appointment and he clearly filled it as diabetes. Again he had to correct their mistake in the clinic. It's time for the management to train again these unprofessional receptionists properly without considering their age.
My experience differs from a lot of the negative reviews here: I made an appointment online and only had to wait 2-3 minutes after arrival to see the doctor - however, the waiting room was practically empty. The receptionist was very friendly, and the doctor seemed very knowledgeable and kind and put me at ease. I feel the treatment plan we made for the issue I’m experiencing is one I’m confident in.
How do I book with my doctor if I am sick? I have an appointment in 6 weeks so the online access won’t let me book until a day after that appointment, which I am not cancelling. Your phone line keeps hanging up on me. I have tried booking a virtual appointment and that web page keeps freezing. This is what makes for irrational chaos in ERs and urgent care. The following review, just substitute Dr Lyons and update to January, 2023. Do these doctors have contracts with this business? I must include: the person who calls to book appointments for doctors is exceptionally competent. Ok - because contact with the office is impossible, when the booking person calls I feel like I’ve won a lottery. And then have to remind myself that they can only address booking. The following was posted by Sera. “Dr. Julie Martz is an excellent GP 5 stars! — if you can find a way to get an appointment with her. The online booking system doesn’t work and phoning puts you on hold for half an hour and then cuts you off. It's like trying to kick a breeze block through a swamp. I'm not sure what "automated" means to WELL Health, but apparently the automated responses to book an appointment need a well-earned rest outside of office hours. Who knew. And gawd help you if you just need to pass a follow-up message to your doctor. If you have ongoing medication for a serious chronic condition, I recommend starting to attempt to contact your doctor to replenish or modify at least two months before it runs out, to be on the safe side. The most effective way to get an appointment or pass on a message same thing in this place, actually is to physically show up at the clinic and speak to a receptionist in person. Not convenient, no. But the only realistic way you can actually have any hope at all of seeing or communicating with your doctor. I am very happy with Dr. Martz, but an excellent doctor I have no way of booking an appointment to see or contacting if there is a problem with medication she prescribed is exactly the same as having no doctor at all. I am seriously considering looking for another clinic, one where I can actually get in to see someone before my medication runs out. Inconsistent care from a variety of doctors is still better than no care at all. It’s a measure of how highly I think of Dr. Martz that I haven’t done so already. Management is so terrible, I wish I could give the clinic itself zero stars. Or fewer. Everything we’ve come to expect from any for-profit multinational health “care” conglomerate. This place is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Best doctor I’ve ever had in the worst-managed clinic I’ve ever encountered. My heart goes out with deep sympathies to the frontline staff who have to deal with the frustrated patients who do finally manage to book an appointment after navigating their way through this clown parade.”
