Beautiful, clean and huge! Quite a few steps to get to the top of the dam— wear comfortable shoes. The view from the top is impeccable. Beautiful green lawn with lots of trees for shade to have a fun picnic. There's also 2 food trucks, one which sells Nathan's hot dog etc and the other sells ice-cream and frozen treats— not sure if they're always parked here. Definitely will be back!
Kensico Dam is a beautiful park with many shady trees, big field area, paved ground for walking, biking or roller skating. It has trails, ample parking and a brand new playground with friendship and ADA swings. It's close to town with dining options. It is pet friendly. There are many free events held here during spring, summer and winter. Definitely a must for families.
Visited while they were having an Asian American and Pacific Islander culture festival which was a nice surprise. There's stairs on both sides of the dam to walk the whole length. It was a hot sunny day so I'd recommend sun screen.
It's closer than you think, not too far from the White Plains convention center. There's simple parking. The damn is quite a sight. At the foot of the dam, there's a play area for children. We took the stairs to the left all the way up to the top. The stairs are narrow but manageable. At the top you can use gaze out at the water north of the wall and all of the land to the south. Is quite picturesque at the top.
Perfect family day for us and our 3 Littles. 2 playgrounds, big lawn area, hiking and the views on top of the dam were amazing. Highly recommend!!
Beautiful park and walk across the dam. There are a lot of events held here during the summer. Great place to walk or ride bikes.
Place is dope af. Crazy views from the bottom and top. Similar post I made about crotan dam which is about an hour up north from here where the water is actually connected and goes to Manhattan. But anyway, nice place to picnic, do some laps around the park, play some outdoor games in the spacious grass area like frisbee, soccer, bare knuckle boxing or just tanning. Lots of parking with no fee. A lot of events here. You can hike the top of the dam from either side and see the top. Def will look amaze balls in the fall when the leaves change colors. Unlike Cortan no waterfall but still an amazing sight to see and be next too.
A nice place to walk with a family, friends, or alone. There are stairs to the top, where a gorgeous view at a lake on a one side and a park on the other. New modern playground for kids. Free parking. Trails. Playground: A new modern playground opened last year. Has zones for toddlers and kids. A lot of interactive things, swings, slides, etc.
It’s a dam, it’s a reservoir. There’s a park. There’s a play area. You can climb the stairs and walk on the top of the dam. It’s beautiful to spend couple of hours on an evening with the family
A lot of stairs to climb up on top. A bit creepy on the way up & once you get up there and down on the other end esp. At dusk you must have full charge on phone, you'll need the flashlight!. It is a nice walk on top, but its nice to have someone you trust walk across with you.
