Kennedy Lake Provincial Park

What a gorgeous camping location. The lake is incredible, take out the canoe or take a leap off the bridge and go for a swim. There are a lot of good spots to set up camp here.

Absolutely stunning!!! A personal highlight of Canada's Pacific Coast. I enjoyed lashing a simple raft out of beach wood and paddling around. The shores are almost entirely undeveloped and the water pristine. I found myself climbing 30 feet up INSIDE a Red Cedar tree - up the heartwood hollowed out by centuries. Bracing my body between my hands and legs I got more than 30 feet up before the space got too small to climb. Ancient wood dust hung in the air and smelled like ...time and magic. This cedar is not part of a smallish facade of a stand like McMillan (Cathedral Grove.) >40% of the Kennedy Lake forests supports ecosystems that are over 140 years old. I picked 10 pounds of chanterele mushrooms, fried them on the beach and had a natural clay body bath.
