A long time favorite got the fin feather deluxe with dressing gravy , onions. It was the first time I had it in a while. It's how I remembered it. It was very good. The fries almost seemed to be yellow potatoes the fries seemed a bit sweet and a lot if them were browned but soft, not crispy but in a good way cause I really enjoyed them like that. Fish and wings tasted great.
I went to Keith's before and it was ok, but I didn't see the hype. I went today and ordered onion rings and a truckers special with cheese. Onion rings were pretty good, but I couldn't get through them, the grease just got to me too quickly. But they are decent, homemade too which is always a plus. Truckers special, Newfoundland style, which is fries with dressing, ground beef, fried onions and gravy but I added cheese cause I'm not exactly watching my diet eating at a greasy spoon. Their fries are amazing, ground beef could use a little better seasoning, dressing was awesome, but the cheese.... it was so friggin good. I assume they are using top quality ingredients, it was really good. Must admit, I was pleasantly surprised with my order and I look forward to returning to try their fish and chips or a hot turkey sandwich. I would recommend.
Good place to get a bit to eat, great atmosphere, friendly staff. Most had the fish and chips with stuffing and gravy. Have to say it was ok, fish seamed to have been left in the oil to long or pre cooked. And then once an order came up it was recooked as it was oily and the batter was soft on the inside. Another had the turkey poutin and said it was delicious. Unfortunately I don't think I'd be back any time soon.
The onion rings were on point! Absolutely delicious. The oil it was cooked in seemed like it was either premium quality or fresh oil. The Triple Decker Poutine was alright. The fries texture seemed undercooked yet reheated but somehow still tasted good. The gravy was alright. The cheese was wayyy too much and I think it was shredded and curds put on it--not sure. Overall it tasted good though and the amount of food I got felt like it was worth the price. Service was outstanding. Takeout packaging was durable. I didn't eat in but restaurant appeared clean and had a beautiful modern, local, nautical theme. Vegetarian options: No vegetarian options listed on menu. Fries might be an option. Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly food available on menu. Seems like a family friendly restaurant. Parking: Large parking area. Parking lot is along a busy road. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible parking available. Dietary restrictions: Not vegan or vegetarian friendly. Did not notice GF or options for other special diets.
Take a drive out to the Goulds and treat yourself to some of the best Fish and Chips in Newfoundland. Generous chunks of codfish in a light crispy batter fried to perfection. Fries could be crispier but that's just me.
Amazing service. Everyone was so busy, but they were smiling laughing and very genuine staff. The food *chef kiss* Delicious, hot, unpretentious down home food. We started with the crispy hottest onion rings! I had half chicken and chips, poutine style with dressing! The gravy. I could eat that on a flip flop . How the chips and chicken remain so crispy... A delicious mystery. Dad had wings and chips with gravy and dressing. Hubby had the BBQ chicken poutine. We made a dent into those delicious plates, but I've enough left over I will take it to work tomorrow! Two snaps and a clap Keith's Diner is ALL that!!!
visited this summer, was feeling very excited due to all the great feedback i heard from this place. it was awful. service was quick but food was bland and lacked flavour. it seemed at though their fish and chips batter was also used on their chicken. no seasoning whatsoever.
Of course I've been there many times, as I've been to many other fish and chip places in St. John's. Keith's Diner is light years ahead of everyone else. By way way way far, the best in Newfoundland.Recommended dishesFish and Chips Deluxe, Chips, Truckers Special with Cheese, Gravy
A very nice spot to get a feed of fish and chips. My codbites, chips and gravy were so tasty best I've had in ages. I had great company with me and the restaurant is so upbeat, modern, clean and spacey. The local artwork adds appeal as well. The food is quite reasonably priced, serving size was more than anticipated and service was good. I will return.
We stopped by for some takeout. It was super busy but the service was very good and very fast. The food was very tasty and well worth what we paid for it. I had the fish and chips deluxe. My significant other had the scallops and chips. We also had the onion rings which were among the best I have ever had. Keith's lived up to it's reputation. We will definitely be back.
