The food here is pretty good especially the pressed saba sushi and unagi & ikura hot stone bowl. The tempura that came with both noodle dishes -- udon soup and cold soba -- were delicious. Only complaint is that the buckwheat noodles for the cold dish soba were overcooked. Parking: Ample parking.
If you give this place less than 5 stars, honestly it's you. I recommend this place to all. Yes it's worth the drive from anywhere you are. The prices reflect quality and care for your experience. The staff genuinely care and that is a rare treat. Have issues with any part of your experience, they handle it. Order everything, you'll thank me.
If I could give 6 stars for here I would! I would like to thank Daisy for being a superstar! She has been there since they opened 4 years ago and is so professional and enthusiastic that I had figured that she must be part of the ownership. She is not. She is a rare, self-motivated person who cares about making other people enjoy their loves if only for the hour that they happen to be in her care. She took amazing care of my boys, anticipating what they wanted and needed flawlessly. She listened intently and was so efficient with running the dining room on her own. I am sure that each customer received the same care and attention which is so rare and to be treasured. The food there is excellent too as well as the decor and ambiance. I don't live in Kelowna, but will make sure to return to this restaurant the next time I am there. It is nice to have a KID FRIENDLY sushi restaurant that is also upscale and amazing for the adults too. Thank you!!!
This place was very clean and the service was very good. 15% gratuity mandatory for for any party of five. The food was quite unique, our friends quite enjoyed it. This place lost some stars because as a vegetarian, they labeled things vegetarian but it's cooked in fish soup or it has fish ingredients inside. That means it's not vegetarian. Anything with fish is pescetarian. I ended up ordering the vegetarian yakisoba and the pasta
Today I was looking for somewhere to have lunch. I decided to try out Kaya. The restaurant was full. I have to say that despite that I received my lunch very quickly. It was delicious! The soup, salad, tempura and sushi very good. Price was fair. Service was good. I am definitely coming back. Parking: Lots of parking
Service was good and starters - edamame, seaweed salad and miso soup we're good too. Our sushi was disappointing. We did not really like the spicy sauce used and there was a lot of it on the rolls. Also, jalapenos were added to our spicy salmon and spicy tuna rolls but not listed on the menu. Shortly afterward leaving the restaurant we both felt queasy. Given the cost of the meal I expected more.
Extremely overpriced for such small portion sizes. Portions are dismally small but priced as though they aren’t. Spent $30 and left hungry, where I normally would spend around $20 on sushi somewhere else and leave full and happy. Very disappointing as I had high hopes from all the good reviews.
The “salad” that comes with the Chicken NanPan.....I order from Kaya because it’s close to my house. I was expecting a salad like I’m used to seeing, but this seemed like a garnish. I eat here often and lately I think the quality has gone down. I have had really great service always, but I think there have been a couple misses with certain items I’ve ordered. Just stick to what you know will be good at any sushi restaurant here.
Very good service. Restaurant was busy with one server, somehow she took care of every table quickly and efficiently. Food was delicious and prompt. Kudos to the staff!
This place deserves 6 stars. It's a strip mall Sushi place near an airport and a gas station that out classes it's surroundings when it comes to the food. Ignoring the existence of the few upscale sushi places in Vancouver that cost well over $100/person this place shocked me on my most recent visit Nov 2022. Incredibly presented nigiri with near perfect rice served at just the right temperature. The agedashi tofu was the best I've had anywhere in Canada. Someone at their sushi bar is taking a lot of personal pride in what they are plating. What a pleasant surprise in Kelowna.
