Katsuya

Been there around 10PM today, store nearly closing and not too busy yet not so dead. Served by Hyojin and Donna were both of them are fantastically delivering positive attitude and top notch customer service! Foods are amazing with huge portion for one person, worth the money. Little secret : you can refill your soup and cabbage many times! And they also offer 1 time refilling rice, however, i dont think it necessary since you will have enough food on your plate!

At the time, they were unlicensed to sell alcoholic drinks but that didn’t really bother us much since the food was excellent. We ordered the croquettes, the takoyaki, chicken katsu and chicken teriyaki. They were consistent at getting their crunchy textures right across the board from the croquettes to the juicy pieces of chicken. I love octopus and their takoyaki is definitely one of my favourites. The portion sizes are massive in my view. Katsuya Robson in Vancouver is a great spot for a quick bite and I highly recommend them!

I got the Terri Mayo Katsu, and its initial presentation wow'ed me the most, specifically the various sauces and bonito flakes on top of the katsu. The staff checked in on us multiple times, and the free extra miso soup, cabbage, and one rice refill were a nice bonus. Taste-wise it wasn't out of this world, but the dining experience was very pleasant. Would recommend!

We ordered the Japanese pork loin katsu which was very disappointing; the meat was thin and dry. The fish curry katsu was not as good as we hoped for as the curry tasted like packaged curry which we all could make, though the texture of the fish was excellent. However, it was obvious that the proteins were not fresh. Also, the rice was soaking wet like I couldn’t even consume it; as an Asian who dined in an Asian restaurant, I took that as an insult. The honey butter powder fries were decent but still didn’t match the bar because the fries were not crispy. It’s a Korean-Japanese fusion but they didn’t cooperate properly. Perhaps we might come back and try their “Korean version of katsu” later. All in all, I wouldn’t recommend this place for traditional katsu lover.

We ordered the carbonara sauce and the original one, very tasty, soft and crunchy at the same time. Price looks a bit high but the potion is huge, we were really really full. Staffs are nice too

Amazing and delicious! The miso soup to start is inviting. We got the takoyaki and it was so crunchy and great portions! The cheese katsu was fun to prepare my own sesame seeds for the sauce and the portions are so filling for the price.

Definitely my go to katsu place now, I invited most of my friends and family and they are all very satisfied with their orders. I love the unlimited side dishes but without it, it is still filling because the servings are huge.

The portions are quite huge, but the meals are delicious. We tried the takoyaki, it was very crunchy on the outside and melting on the inside. We tried the fish katsu, the cheese carbonara and the pork katsu. Everything was tasty and crunchy.

The best cutlet place in Vancouver. I went to Katsuya several times and the food was always great. I hope this place remains for a long time so I can have tasty katsu whenever I want.

The food wasn't amazing but it was definately good. There wasn't anything that surprised me aside from the delicious Miso soup. Also, the two main things are Katsu and Udon. Wished that they sold more of a different variety because this place has a lot of potential. The bathroom could also be female friendlier. I found it difficult that there wasn't any hook on the door or wall that I could place my bag on. I love the atmosphere and their excellent service.
