Good service decent momos but the food is pricey . I understand it is in slu etc but you cannot charge 16-17 dollars for a 10 piece momos served on a disposable plate. The momos are colorful though comes in white pink and green depending on the filling you get. We got the pork and the chicken momocha with two glasses of the stale masala chai!! There are other premium dim-sum dumpling chains in the same locality with similar prices with better presentation and vibe so definitely this is overpriced. Plus their chai is awful. It was prepared earlier in the day and served to us in the evening. Please don’t have it . Was super looking forward to this place but felt a little disappointed! Vegetarian options: They have vegan options
This is the closest to Kathmandu momo that I have had in Seattle. I tried the pork and chicken momo and I preferred the pork one better. The flavor balance was very good; mild, aromatic with an individuality of ingredients which complimented the protein, and the carne coating was thin yet not fragile. Will highly recommend this place. There was also beef with cheese but after 3 half plates, I was too full. If this review were to be read by Kathmandu momocha,LLC "why not also try the open Momo's" I am sure it would be a huge hit.
This place is incredible. Some of the best dumplings I’ve ever had. Great service, very friendly and so fast! Eat here! These pictures were taken just a couple of minutes apart WE DEMOLISHED
I loved the vegan Momos here when I first tried these on the day they opened, perfectly shaped, beautiful taste and great service. That took me back to the restaurant today and I was so let down. The service time took forever even though the place was empty and then when I got home I saw a pile of broken flattened Momos stacked in a box, not appetizing at all. Pretty let down. Tasted okay though so gave 3 stars.
**Update - As I cannot reply back to the owner. I have been in this region for many years. I am very well aware of the pricing around this area. I think It’s rude and racist to call out my region/country based on my review. Also, I know potato qualifies as a vegetable and that’s where you entirely missed my point. _________________________________________________________ Ordered vegan momocha - the filling was nice but I did not expect potatoes in it. The dumpling coating was very thick which was a complete turn off. It’s overpriced and not worth the wait time. Not sure if I will return.
Tried the dumplings they had at a farmer’s market. The white dumplings are chicken, pink is pork, vegan is green. They’re handmade dumplings. They’re great and hit the spot though I’m really thinking about baoxi. For about 10 dumplings you spend close to $20 high estimate. You can also buy 5. They come with sauce, there’s mild, spicy and hot sauce. It goes great with the sauce, I don’t find the hot sauce spicy, but others who are a bit more sensitive may find it to be spicy. The people working at the stand were also very friendly.
Momos are Nepalese dumplings and usually have more spice in the filling than the regular dumpling, so your experience may vary depending on preference. I am glad that they recently opened a brick and mortar shop of this place which generally operated solely as a food truck in the past, and it is in proximity to where I live. I went here around opening and tried their lunch momo combo which has chicken momo x4, pork momo x4, and pakora x2. After tax, this was around $17.50 which is on the pricier end for a lunch meal in the area for not too much food. The pakora is fried well but has a good amount of just flour, so there is not much of the filling. I enjoyed the momos a fair bit as the filling has a lot of herbs, but they steamed it poorly. Some of the beef momos have a very soggy base which spills the filling out, leading to a subpar experience. The sauce they gave is pretty good and complements very well with the momos. Overall, I am happy there is a new decent spot in the South Lake Union area for food, but this did not really wow me that much.
Got the vegan momocha and chicken and egg handmade noodles. The momos are apparently their best seller. All the momos were broken from the bottom some didn’t have the bottom and tasted bad. They claim them to be “made from scratch” but felt like frozen ones that broke apart due to the steam. The noodles had too many vegetables and excessive salt. The staff even asked us to not dine-in at 8:10PM even though the place was open until 9PM.
Kathmandu MoMoCha has always been a delightful addition to Seattle in food truck form, so seeing their “coming soon” sign go up on a storefront along Terry Avenue North a handful of weeks ago made me absolutely giddy. Himalayan dumplings are a food everybody should try at least once, especially in Seattle: the perfectly-spiced meats and slightly thick but still wonderfully chewy dumpling skins are perfect for lunch or dinner on a chilly fall day in the Emerald City. I was very excited to make it for their grand opening, and I was happy to see a healthy crowd of people showing up for lunch on their first day. They managed their line very well, with orders coming out quickly and hot, which speaks to their food truck roots and is a good sign that they will be successful here in South Lake Union during the regular lunch rush. The entire staff was very friendly, welcoming, and organized. While MoMoCha’s Himalayan dumplings can be ordered on their own, along with a wide array of appetizers, soups, and other entrees, their lunch combinations really shine: eight dumplings four each of chicken and pork, in the case of the meat combination and two veggie pakora I got three! are a very filling meal, or a great size to split with a friend alongside another appetizer. I highly recommend getting a cup of their masala tea as well: it has the perfect hint of sweetness, a touch of cream, and is beautifully spiced without any notes of bitterness. I opted for a to-go order, as it was a pleasantly chill day and I was looking forward to eating outside in the public! plaza in the middle of the same block. I was able to choose from their various complimentary dipping sauces mild, medium, and hot: I chose the latter two. Both sauces were excellent, but I also suggest trying the dumplings on their own, especially with some of the freshly-chopped scallions that come with the dumplings: the dumplings are expertly-spiced and very juicy and hearty. After tasting everything on its own, I found myself only using a small amount of the sauce as a spicy complement for the warm and filling meaty dumplings. The pakora are delicious and nicely sized, and are a very well-balanced blend of spices, vegetables, and chickpea flour, both moist and crisp without tasting remotely greasy. I definitely highly recommend visiting, and I look forward to returning soon to try some of their other menu items, especially the handmade turmeric noodles and garlic chili lunch combo. I hope to try dining in at some point when the grand opening rush calms down, as they have a very nice but small seating area and stunning art to admire throughout the restaurant. They also have a small takeout window facing the sidewalk, which didn’t appear to be in use during their grand opening, but I expect it will be a very nice option on nice days or when picking up an order:it will probably also help reduce foot traffic through their dining area in the future.
This is a small casual place for grabbing some awesome Momos. I think their Momo is great however, the it needs to come with more sauce or at least have some available outside for anyone who needs extra.Food: 5/5
