A welcome break from the normal cafe food options. The savory fry bread tacos were very good, and I really like the different topping flavor options there were. The staff is nice, and the fine in space is clean. A good place for a quick bite.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: NoTakeout: Yes
First time I've ever had Indian tacos. Specifically the braised bison meat taco this time. Also had their sweet frybread with cinnamon topping. And a cold brew coffee, but this didn't seem to have any particular feature from Native cuisine. Definitely liked the bison taco. The frybread on which it's delivered reminds me of a kind of puffy pita. It's kind of a different twist on the handheld bread/tortilla+toppings/fillings formula that's universal around the world tacos, pita, gyro, etc; I wonder if there is a concise culinary term encompassing this idea?. Bison meat is closest to beef out of the common meats eaten in the US, but it's definitely its own flavor. I liked it; it was well made. The toppings were kind of generic, some greens, radish, etc. The sweet frybread appears to be the same bread base as the taco, but with sugar and cinnamon added on. There are many many topping choices other than cinnamon, but it was recommended to me. Definitely good, reminds me of sweetbreads you get elsewhere. The cold brew was your typical cold brew. The service was good, the host was good at recommending items to me, as this was the first time I've ever been in a Native taco place. The space is amazing during good weather. They open the huge huge class wall to the outdoors, so you get a light filled space but also shade if you want it. And you're in the modern museum building. Really good architecture going on here. Overall, I rate it 4 stars. It's good, worth the visit, a good choice if you want something fast and not expensive, a good space, and bonus points for serving a cuisine Native American that's not widely available. Can't give it 5 stars because the food, while good, is not amazing. At no point did I feel that "wow".
The fry bread is delicious and fresh ! I really enjoyed the fry bread tacos and dessert fry bread. This location was really nice! I loved how they had literally the side of the building tilted open to let in fresh air. Very unique! Parking wasn’t that great but for the area it was expected.
First time having fry bread and it was delicious! The fry bread bison taco had such a comfort food quality with savory and flavorful warmth, definitely a new favorite of mine. The iced Chai was wonderfully spiced!
This is a smallish cafe attached to the Burke museum in Seattle. It's a slow cafe, even with 5 to 6 staff, it seems like it took forever to get a small order going. The coffee was a bit 'iffy', and the Native American bread aka Taco needs further improvement. The staff was slow but very kind, the place has a nice ambience with large glass overlooking the trees parking of Burke. It's a relaxing place to sit. Not a place where I will make an exclusive trip but ok while you are at Burke. Parking: Paid parking at Burke Museum
Loved the Indian take on Tacos, the taco is almost similar to the Indian poori. The sweet version of the bread is similar to the elephant ears. The chilli was nice too. It was filling for me but not sure if it would be the same for everyone. Place was crowded but the service was super quick . Worth checking out Features: It's a crowded joint , better to avoid if you are conscious about COVID .
Bowls were okay - says “wild rice” but it’s wild rice + reg rice mostly regular rice the and lines are always long since it’s on campus. Sweet flatbread flavors though!
Really good fry breadnative American style. The bison was very tender and good. The sweet cherry one was very good a little too sweet for my taste but it was very yummy. Friendly ppl. Wish they had more native type food
A little pricey but probably because it’s in a museum. Overall amazing food though!! The bison taco was our favorite
Always love it when I am in the area to stop at Off the Rez. Great tacos and fry bread. On the weekends they have a breakfast taco with scrambled eggs and bacon. The bison taco is one of my favorites. The lemon custard fry bread is great but if you get a chance try the seasonal pumpkin fry bread.
