$15 is a lot for only two kabobs on a bed of rice. About half a dozen people were ahead of me but I waited 30+ minutes, normally 20, even for one shawarma. Food is good but not on the level of Darna or Nile River Lounge. Perhaps they could scrap the over-the-top chandeliers and massive glass waterfall displays and invest in the quality of food and service.
Place used to be ok but has going downhill recently in terms of food quality and service. Once we ordered a big order of 80 different dishes and informed them 24 hrs in advance but on the day of the pick up, they delayed us at least by an hr because some items were not cooked or packaged and only half of the instructions were followed. Recently, ordered a simple meal for three people and found: - Stale salad had a smell - Dry Naans - Burnt meat - box packaged upside down so when we opened it, it was all a mes Prices gone up and quality down, very sad
I prefer to dine in here. Lots of space and tables. I like the Kandahar Kebab and the lamb chops. Tons of rice and salad. The sauces are great too. Service is a bit slow but they're usually very busy every time I go.
We been there few times already. We love their food. Usually we get a table without waiting on weekends. Various items. You can pick and choose. You can take fries instead of rice. They give a lot of food for that price. Yummy kebabs, rice and bread. Freshly made. Their salt lassi is very good. Mango lassi is also available. The red sauce they give is really good if you like spicy sauce. Nice ambiance. Friendly staff. Bottle water can be bought. Parking lot is available.
By far the best afghani restaurant in town. Rice, kababs, naan, salad everything is delicious . The shawarma is prepared in subway style, that is you get to choose your ingredients. They have some very yummy sauces that make food even more scrumptious to eat. And on top of that a very spatious and decent ambience make it a perfect family dine in restaurant. 100% recommended!!!
Great food, big portion sizes, and friendly staff. Recommend the chicken shawarma plate I got the spicy chicken - pictured. The hot sauce they provide is also very good. Will be visiting again!
This restaurant is probably one of the most consistently inconsistent places in Toronto! We have dine here and ordered takeout numerous times and most of the time have disappointing experiences. They're inconsistent virtually in every way - the food, service and overall experiences varies radically every time we come here. We've tried their meat kababs including beef/chicken kofta, veal fillet, beef and chicken breast and there are times that they're dry and tough and other times they come out tender and moist. And then their Challow Afghan Rice most of the times have an overpowering smell as if it was doused with lots of spices. But when you order it again in another day it tasted just right. Even their mere red chutney sauce is not saved from their inconsistencies. Normally this should be savoury and spicy. We just ordered today and they gave us a red sauce which is sickeningly sweet. Totally so different in taste from the red sauce we got before. I understand their food can be prepared by different cooks at different days and time. But as an experiment, we tried going on the exact same day/time/staff just to see if their dishes will be the same ... and it was as different as night and day. While we have good visits with this place, I don't think we will be returning as we don't want to play Russian roulette and experience the risk of occasionally being hit point-blank with terrible food.
The decor is shockingly impressive. Lots of water falls everywhere. My biggest surprise is yo see the service as a fast food instead of a restaurant. The set up scream high end restaurant but the fast food concept I.e. order then come pick up your stuff was a but of a let down . The food both the beet kebob and the chicken kebob were good, similarly the BBQ chicken is good. Edible and taste good, good spices but I won't say I was extactic. Good food that is delicious. The rice portion is extremely big. I love their bread too much. Actually that is their best item. The service was fast. I would come back here Parking: Tons of parking .
The food was delicious and authentically prepared, showcasing the true flavors and techniques of the culture. The decoration of the restaurant was majestic and added to the overall dining experience. To top it off, the service was quick and efficient, making for a seamless and enjoyable meal
The indoor seating is not bad.. the food, however, leaves a lot to be desired. For the price of the dishes you'd expect tender, juicy kebabs or lamb chops. What we got was dry and tough meat, a few small pieces atop a mountain of rice. Service could also be greatly improved. Unfortunately, an utter disappointment.
