My husband and I go here at least once a month and get dinner. It is probably the BEST we’ve had. You can take it home and cook it or they can cook it for you and you can pick it up. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are big! We love it . This is 2 sausages worth in the photo! 10/10 recommend
John Candy used to courier perogies to California from my hometown. My friends still bring me kielbasa from Winnipeg in suitcases when they come to visit. And, I am 1/4 Eastern European. So, I have high expectations when trying this style of cuisine. And yet, Kalinka won me over. The perogies were really delicious. I'm guessing that fresh not delivered far across the city they would be even MOAR amazing. I look forward to sampling them on site. The sausage had an unexpected kick and was full of yum. The prepared salads are delicious. I really enjoyed the sautéed vegetables and the leftovers tasted great in a soup I made the next day. I prefer pork cabbage rolls but these vegetarian ones were excellent with a nice spice to them. The accompanying tomato sauce to spread over them was very tasty..
This place is amazing, I’m not Ukrainian myself but I’m assuming it’s quite authentic. It has such a heart warming, home cooked with love type feel. Definitely come here for some comfort food. I had the cabbage rolls and pierogis, both amazing but the cabbage rolls definitely stood out as they are a favourite of mine. Today I wasn’t feeling well so I ordered some chicken soup, man, I did a 180 and I feel a million times better after eating it. Everything is so well seasoned and delicious. Try this place!
So disappointed with everything!!! I called back the restaurant after ordering the cabbage rolls as take out and explained my situation, that the meat was raw, and they insisted that I was wrong and playing pranks because they have heared many of those comments before. Well hello does this look like a prank to you?? Ordered the perogies as well and just completely disappointed. Please do not support these people EDIT; by their response they clearly don’t care to apologize for an obvious mistake that was made on their behalf. Trying to bring science into this like their meat was not raw! It was chewy and stringy and pink! Ground beef doesn’t give a pink colour when cooked lmao
I come to Alberta for work quite often. I am 100 % Croatian so always try to find a Croatian restaurant - which is a challenge. I came upon this Ukrainian place and thought I’d give it a try. It’s fantastic ! Good, tasty home cooked meals. I’ve used Uber Eats as well as going in myself. Always great. Everything I’ve sampled is good but the soups are outstanding. The Borscht and meat soup are very tasty. The honey cake and crepes are also delicious. Whenever I’m in this city, I try to order from here. Thank you Kalinka for giving me a taste of home - away from home
I woke up on a cold day, with an intense craving for sauerkraut, hopped on Uber Eats and found this gem! The food is authentic, and has a nice kick to it. You can definitely taste the love they put into it! I only get Polish/Ukranian food every year around Christmas, when my grandma makes it. So, this was really nice for me
Bought some Ukrainian dishes here for Christmas. Dishes were awesome. Staff was so kind and helpful. Great little shop! Will definitely go there again.
Popped in here to pick up a Groupon, stayed for the delicious scents of the lunch I ended up buying. Takes donations in support of Ukraine! Excellent little market with lots to see, and excellent service to top it all off.
Great place to buy all Ukrainian/ Russian food. House made pirozhky, sausages and kolbasa, borsh and cakes. Huge variety of authentic east European products. Update: More and more Ukrainian and other eastern European products are available at the store
This is one of the most authentic and genuine Ukranian food experiences I've had besides actually being there. The selection is great, the staff are helpful and friendly. What's not to love?
