Kairali - Taste of Kerala

Totally satisfied with the food they serve , be it the ambience, the friendly staff etc . Their major highlight and my personal favourite one from their menu is fish cooked in banana leaf Pomfret which comes with the gravy. The item also comes with perfect blend . The fish was juicy and tender. They also have sufficient parking space and dining facility to fit in medium crowd. Would love to visit this place again and I would certainly recommend everyone to visit this restaurant at once when you’re in Scarborough

Great taste. Had parotta, Naden fish curry, Beef curry semi-gravy & sardine fish. I've been to this restaurant couple of years ago and the food quality wasn't great at that time but then I visited here recently and this time around the food tasted very authentic and was really yummy. Thoroughly enjoyed their food.

Waste of money! I ordered Shrimp Biryani, fried fish and chicken lollipops. There is no quantity at all. Chicken lollipops were literally fried bones with a very little chicken on it. Fish fry was chewy and smelly. It was frozen fish for sure. Shrimp Biryani was good somehow but again quantity is nothing. There were only 3 shrimps in entire Biryani. Service is too slow as well. Waited approx 30 minutes to get my food and worst thing, it came in parts. Chicken came, when dinner was almost done. Not recommend.

Spoiled tomato in both of my curries; ruined both dishes. Called the restaurant to complain, they wouldn't offer a refund, tried to gaslight me saying I left the food out too long. They offered me a replacement dish, so I brought back both curry dishes near-full. I was only given one butter chicken as a replacement. When I pointed this out, I was told that one of the curry dishes was still good. I told them I would take back the one they considered to be good, but they had already thrown it out I guess they just throw out "good" food?. I was then asked to voice any further complaints on a different day. They seemed to be busy, and either didn't want to deal with me or didn't want other guests to hear my complaints. Right after leaving the restaurant, I opened my butter chicken for a quick quality check. I counted a total of 6 pieces of chicken in the entire dish. As much as I don't want to make this a racial thing, I think if you aren't brown, don't bother, they won't respect you. You will likely be given smaller portions, or the garbage pieces of meat. At least put a brown name on your takeout order! Coconut shrimp wasn't terrible, just a bit heavy/oily. Samosas were alright, garlic naan was stiff/chewy. Plain rice on the side had no issues no surprise there! It's going to take a LOT for me to consider buying from here again.

I was bit skeptical when I took my friends there for dinner and fortunately it turned out to be an amazing experience We ordered White rice with chicken varuth aractath and it was amazing Veg kothu paratta was yummy along with eggplant curry In addition to that we ordered Appam , coconut dried shrimp and a coffee Overall worth going there and amazing experience.

The food was very average, lacking taste and it's lukewarm when it came to our table. The Beef fry and Beef curry masalas were good, but the meat was hard. Puttu and prawn masala was worst in taste. We tried chicken Kurma, it's tasted like pop corn seasoning without spice or taste. The rasmalai was okay, can visit this place for just the Gulab jamun. Worst food I tasted in Scarborough! Parking: Free large common parking lot is available in the complex.

I ordered for a bucket biriyani and I was shocked by seeing the quantity. It’s too bad .. if you don’t have the biriyani to full the basket then you should have Canceled the order..so that we can order it from some other restaurants. Please value the money we pay for you. Sorry to say but I had a bad experience

DO NOT EAT HERE!! When you get cooked bugs in your food. For about 11 CAD I got fish and bug curry. Unclean and disgusting. Taste is not good either.

So far I like Kairali restaurant. Especially their Kerala foods. I had prawns Biriyani couple of times, prawns were very fresh and biriyani was amazing. Last time I ordered 2 Puttu, chilli chicken, porotta, Kallumakkaya and Soupof the day. Those were satisfactory. We ordered kerala style tea, but we didn't like it. Food wise I feel Kairali is the best kerala restaurant around Scarborough. But beware of the waiting time. Restaurant ambiance is also not up to the mark. I don't usually order online from Kairali because of the longer waiting time plus delivery charges.

Visited the place on a weekend for having dinner. Tried the Chicken Biriyani which was fabulous in taste as well as in quantity. The salad and pickle also tasted well. There is sufficient space in the dine in area and a vast area is available for parking. The service was also nice as the staff was polite and supportive. Really liked the experience here.
