I locked my eyes on the Country Fried Chicken and it was great! The price is great considering the large portion you get. A bit on the salty side so you might wna have the gravy on the side! But really, if you aren’t a heavy eater, it’s enough to share: chicken, cornbread, corn, mashed potatoes, and gravy. We paired it with a few alcoholic iced teas. And it went great. Service is great; super friendly and accommodating. Ambience is like Country Western meets Boston Pizza but better. It was my first time there, so definitely coming back to try the rest of the menu! Thanks to our server, Stephanie for making a great first experience at J-59 with us!
This restaurant had a very busy parking when we went. We had reservations and they were needed. We were seated quickly by friendly staff. They got us our drinks quickly. The free nachos were pretty decent. We started off with chicken wings. The wings were juicy and meaty. Definitely worth getting here. Unfortunately my main dish was covered by some sort of Chipotle mayonnaise which might have been off. My stomach turned after a few bites. It's a super popular place. I'm sure my experience wasn't normal. The staff was nice. Try the wings.
Had dinner tonight with a friend. Service was great and friendly, very accommodating. Food was delicious for all of us. Happy with the drinks as well. Ended up buying a skull glass that drinks were served in!! Had the avocado appetizer and steak bites, chicken and waffle and the roadhouse burger!
Nacho chips and salsa are fresh and a nice start to get you started on your order. Clean bright open feeling. Be good for a business meeting. Tried the chicken week burger was a little too spicy for myself. Food has been great here. The country fried chicken looks amazing going to try next time! Lime margarita Mondays are great! Menus are looking well used suggest replacing!
Great happy hour menu with really good appetizers and drinks. Their regular menu is great as well but I usually go there to enjoy the happy hour! Service is friendly and fast as well. This restaurant has a franchise vibe but it is a local restaurant so must support!!!
We thought we would grab a bite to eat for dinner and happened to be by Junction 59. As you can see from the photos, my little family loves mac and cheese haha, and those were definitely a big hit. One slight issue I did have though was that I was trying to get the attention of _any_ staff member to let them know that my toasts were on the very burnt side on one side. I did try to eat them but couldn't stomach it in the end. note that this visit was about 4 months ago
First time dining in this restaurant and inside was modern and very clean. Friendly staff. The Hot Rock Fajita dish was a crowd pleaser as it was exciting and different from the average meal. Although this dish was ordered for one person, it could be easily shared amongst two or three. I would recommend this restaurant and this dish to others.
MUST STOP! This place has got to be the best spot in Winnipeg, easily our new favourite. Shortly after we sat down we were greeted with cold water & a plate of chips with salsa. Our waitress explained the specials to me & we got these massive drinks and we got the 1/2 rack & chicken. Lemme tell you, these are REAL ribs - fall off the bone tender topped with their house made BBQ sauce & that chicken is juicy, flavourful and crispy. It’s been YEARS since we’ve had a meal THAT GOOD! I’d 100% recommend this place - attentive staff, great atmosphere and outstanding food. Kat was our server and she’s the BOMB!
A favorite of many of my friends and family. The atmosphere of a roadhouse, many different items to choose from. Amazing food from great staff. A selection of hot sauces is great and getting to drink from a skull mug is cool!Food: 5/5
Really good dinner with friends on a saturday night. Taco chips with salsa were on the table when we arrived. We had made a reservation for 4 - as we wanted to go during a busy time of the week. Glad we did - there was a wait to get in for people arriving at 6:30pm without a reservation. We started with some appetizer wings - BBQ sauce and honey garlic. The wings were meaty and sauces were delicious. The sizzling fajita bowls were fantastic- we had 2 orders - one with steak and one with chicken. Peppers, sauteed onions, rice, cheese, pickled onions, salsa, lime and tortilla chips in this sizzling dish. The steak and prawns had good flavour. Beef burrito had rice, beef, some cheese and too much chipotle mayo. The burrito would be the only item we would have changed how it is made. The server was attentive. Drinks were refilled promptly. We had an enjoyable evening at this restaurant. Would recommend the fajita bowls - quite delicious. Side of guacamole was very good. We will go again to this restaurant.
