I am a general surgeon who subspecializes in breast and breast cancer surgery. I completed medical school and residency in general surgery at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I came to South Dakota when I was stationed at Ellsworth Air Force Base in 1994. My husband, who is also a physician, began practice in Rapid City at that time. We enjoyed the area, so after my commitment to the Air Force we decided to make this our home.
I received my subspecialty in breast surgery about fifteen years ago. I began practicing at a time when breast surgery was advancing to become minimally invasive. I decided to subspecialize to learn the variety of new techniques coming out at the time. I still do general surgery while on call at the hospital but my clinic is dedicated primarily to breast conditions.
My clinic now features the BeYOUtiful Bratique, a bra fitting boutique specifically tailored to breast cancer survivors. Our certified mastectomy fitters employ their care and expertise to help survivors find funky, fun bras that restore confidence and make women look and feel “beYOUtiful!”
