Gem of a place. Large portions surprised us but the food was all in all delicious. We ordered fried cauliflower, hot bird sandwich, falafel, cauliflower sandwich po-boi and voodoo burger. Everything was tasty but the fried cauliflower was the most delicious. Good place to stop by if you're in the neighborhood. Friendly staff was a pro. Highly recommended
fun southern themed cocktail bar. stopped in here for a chicken sandwich and a drink on my way home. the server was really nice and the atmosphere was nice, too. the food was a little uninspired but overall a place i would happily go to again.
EDIT: we came back the next day and tried the chicken! I can not recommend the Honey Bird enough! Chicken was moist with a perfect crunchy fried exterior. The bread felt a little lacking but wasn’t a deal breaker. Would highly recommend this if you’re in town. Oh, and the Bloody Mary was exactly what I needed after a night at the Gorge - plenty strong and the perfect amount of heat! In Ellensburg for the weekend and stopped in to kill time before checking in to our hotel. Great cocktails-the mint julep was especially delicious & strong! The loaded fries were so good and I wish we had been hungry enough for the chicken sandwiches - they look huge! Definitely keeping this place in mind for whenever I drive through town again.
We went on a Friday…early evening, for drinks and an appetizer. The drink was tasty and the pimento cheese was great. Indoor and heated outdoor seating was available. Service was fair, multiple people seemed to be helping. The sandwiches and burgers looked good. Nice atmosphere, would return for a full dinner. Cheers
Julep combines quality food and drinks in an open and fun atmosphere. Variety of gluten free and vegan options. Bring your loud friends and family here and let your hair down, or keep your trucker hat on, it’s all cool. My premeal boozy Mint Julep paired well with the spicy, bbq chicken and bleu cheese wedge salad and side of fries. Go here and happiness will find you.
The BEST! Authentic southern cuisine that’s to die for. Some items we loved were the fried green tomatoes, fried cauliflower bites, The Classic chicken sandwich and the summer salad. Tried a mint julep and the midnight on the bayou drink - both 10/10! The Ranch Water is another must-try. Stellar serving staff and super vibey atmosphere. Patio that allows dogs Will definitely be one of our regular spots!
Came here for date night yesterday and it was absolutely fantastic, Hailey took care of us and was delightful. Had the biscuits and fried pickles to start, absolutely great job frying them. They were light and crispy and I didn't get the heavy feeling you can get from fried apps. My wife had the soup and salad and I got the chicken sandwich with the fried pickles on it as well. Honey and hot sauce on the side and the honey was alright, hot sauce wasn't anything special but it was good all around. Let's talk about the breading on the fried chicken. It was awesome! Same thing - light and crispy! Their old fashioned was awesome and they lived up to the best of kittitas County award from 2022, absolutely would recommend and we will be back!
It's nice to have a southern style comfort food spot in town. Thankful for the offering. The special soup was delicious and I can tell they are really trying to hit the mark here. We're polite in this town so it's hard to leave reviews like this.. It did seem that my waiter was more interested in rushing guests out the door than remembering drink orders. There was a birthday next to me and it took nearly 40mins before she got her drink after she had to remind the wait staff of the missed order. Meanwhile another table got the wrong order. I think some company sponsored professional development is in need here. I am sure the vibe can carry the weight, but the style of service certainly drags down the overall value of dining here.
The food was absolutely phenomenal! We had their Valentines special preselected 4 course meal. The flavor in every course was impeccable. You could tell it was created and made by a professional chef. We are very impressed with Julep. We found out that everything is made from scratch, which completely makes sense why the flavor was so prominent. Thank you to the whole staff who worked hard putting together a fabulous date night for us on Valentines. We look forward to returning and hope they do more special nights like these again!!
Bar Julep is delightful in that it is unlike any other place in this area, but it also fits right in. I love their attention to southern cuisine, and the inventiveness of their cocktails, especially “shark boy” and “lava girl” named after spy kids characters, which makes my millennial heart sob. You can tell creative people made this place with a lot of love.
