I wish there was an option of giving -5 stars. To say we had an extremely bad experience at JR Furniture is an understatement. We recently bought some furniture from JR furniture in Richmond. To be exact we bought a queen sized bed and a bunk bed. To begin with, we paid them in advance, but they gave us a hard time during delivery. They promised us they would pick up our old furniture; there as well they gave us a hard time. Even in the bunk bed, the storage pieces which they did show us at the store were missing. Moreover the manual they provided for assembling the furniture was wrong and absurd. They would not pick up our calls or hang up in between. Finally when they did pick up, they were very rude and even blunt with my wife, they were yelling at her without any manners to talk to a lady. We did not just talk to one person but three to four different people we talked to, none of them was ready to help us. We went to their store again to talk about the entire ruckus. You would think at least the manager would be any better, but NO. He himself was very rude. We even gave him the option of exchanging and giving us other furniture instead of giving the storage which he didn’t have at that time. He was not ready to do that either. When we could not take any further we finally had to walk out of the store. Their attitude- ‘Since they got the money, they didn’t care’ was clear from the way in which the entire communication happened and how they handled our whole case taking everything in advance. Ultimately we just put a charge back on our credit card for which the case is still going on. It’s not just one person who was unprofessional there. They had a staff of 5-7 people plus the manager but they kept on blaming each other and no one was willing to take responsibility for their actions. The whole JR furniture is a crook system. They will take advantage of you. I can prove that they are a fraud. I would suggest everyone to not deal with them because they do not deliver what they promise. Forget the after sales service; they are no good at delivery itself. We highly recommend people to not to go there. We just want to leave a strong message out here and spread it as much as possible because I think if I could have come across such a review or focused on such reviews, I would not have visited them, or bought from JR furniture or wasted my time on such a scam of a system. When I personally feel so, I believe it’s my responsibility to spread the word and warn others as well.
When my fiance and I went to the Richmond location a couple of weeks back to look for a complete bedroom furniture set, we were greeted by the store manager Sammy. From the time he introduced himself to us, we at once felt at ease. He showed us the diff options available for the bed frames, dresser, side tables and chest. Sammy simply presented all the options available and by showing the diff styles, we found what style suited us. The whole time we were there, Sammy was very patient with us and we didnt feel rushed. He just kept reminding us not to look at the prices and focus on our preference. We then discussed the prices after we found the furniture we wanted. We found the prices to be well suited to the quality of the furniture and within our budget. We ended up purchasing our couch set and coffee table 1 week after. Sammy kindly assured us that the living room set will be delivered together with the bedroom set. All in all, we had a great experience shopping here, and great customer service provided by the manager Sammy. We will definitely recommend J.R. Furniture Richmond location to family and friends and will be back here in the future.
At first we were greeted warmly by the sales rep, Sammy when we visited in March. The dining set we purchased was "heavily discounted" and we reserved it for delivery in late August. We were told by Sammy that we could exchange the dining set for other products in the store of equal value if we changed our mind before the delivery date. We ended up finding the same Ashley dining set for a few hundred dollars cheaper at several online stores in Canada. A couple months later, after we purchased a sofa from another store, we came back to JR Furniture to exchange the dining set for a different product. The floor reps became quite irritated with us and told us it "was impossible" to exchange the products. When we asked for a refund they said a $600 restocking fee would be charged. They eventually agreed to an exchange for another dining table and chairs, but the quote on the dining chairs was much higher than their online price list. They insisted that the online price was for chairs that were part of a set and if purchased separately would cost nearly double the quoted price. It's been a very frustrating experience dealing with their sales reps and manager. They are constantly working an angle to squeeze us for more money. It's exhausting. They don't return phone calls which forces us to drive from downtown to Richmond every time we need to talk to them. We will never shop there again, and I highly recommend against it as well.
Even after all the things I had heard about JR, I decided to go into the store in the hopes to find furniture for my new home. I was surprised by the incredible prices I found for items that were comparable to the Brick. The customer service was the biggest winner for me. The Store Manager, Saahil, is the person you want to talk to. He'll make sure you leave the store fully satisfied, and if not, he'll do everything to ensure you are happy with your experience even if that means going out of his way. Great prices, great service, just make sure you're talking to the right person!
Ok. I normally don’t do this but this is really bothering me. This is about JR furniture in richmond British Columbia and my experience with them. And it only has one star because I can’t post without it they deserve nothing. This place has the worst customer service in all of the places I have ever been. I personally worked in customer service and understand its a tough job but it is the responsibility of the salesperson to take ownership and not blame the customer for issues that arise. First promised the furniture would arrive in 2-3 weeks then it became an extra two weeks. Then was given a final date for it to arrive and we decided to wait. Then got a phone call the date of delivery saying sorry we can deliver the furniture hasn’t arrived, this is already 6plus weeks later. After I finally lost it and gave them a piece of my mind they tell me I have to go to the surrey location for a refund not Richmond because they can’t do refunds there. Which is completely beyond me. Why open stores in other locations if you can’t provide the service. The salesman then refused to take my calls and hung up on me multiple times. Yes I got heated but only because he wasn’t listening to me and understanding that we have been understanding and Patient. He then hangs up and no contact then sends a delivery guy to my house with half of my furniture order the next day. When we called and asked what the heck was going on he went on about how he sold the furniture at a dirt cheap price and we should appreciate it. Like seriously?!?! Worst salesman ever! Still doesn’t apologize. I have tried contacting head office and no call back been over 36 hours and multiple calls. I called them that same day and was told Manger would call me back ASAP. Then I called back hours later and was told th manager isn’t in and hasn’t been for over 3 days, which is weird because he clearly was there earlier and now he hasn’t been there in 3 days. I will continue to call them and deal with this matter. This isn’t how anyone should be doing their job or talking to customers. This is my PSA. Don’t shop at JR furniture especially with someone named Kuldeep at the Richmond location.
The worst service ever! You get ripped off from each of their stores,-there is no set prices! I couldn't return the wrong bar stools they ordered for me!!! When I then just said at least exchange them I was surcharged! Cheap pricing was attractive but I've learnt the quality is cheap too! I'm still waiting in a coffe table to be delivered after 1 year! They have my money, which they were quick to take, but no follow up from there end. Instead I'm having to chase them down because they won't return my calls, and each time they give me a run around. These people need to reported to the Better Business Bureau!
The service was amazing and we got some great deals. The store manager, Mr. Sahil, was super helpful and gave us really good customer service. W apparently came to the store for only sofa purchase but ended up buying full living room set, bedroom set and a dinning table at really competitive price. Definitely coming back to this location for all our future needs and would recommend it to other too. BEST CUSTOMER SERVICES EVER
The manager Sammy is wonderful, he is very knowledgeable and very helpful. He took his time showing us the furniture on the floor as well as on the website and recommending the ones that fit our home. We would highly recommend our friends and family to come to this store to purchase their furniture.
The furniture have good prices, but their customer service is the worst service I ever experienced!! They won't stay on their words to deliver the furniture on time, or at least let you know in case of delay or any problem, or even give your damn money back. So, if you are going to purchase from them, don't trust them at all, and don't be surprise if they hold your call forever, or don't call you back, or tell you lies to cover their irresponsibility. Just prepare yourself to call them all the time, to be sure that they don't forget to proceed your order.
Two months ago, we me and my wife went to the JR Furniture store in Richmond, Canada looking for a sideboard. We found one that we really liked. The floor model was all dusty and dirty but the salesman ensured us that they had new one in the warehouse so we proceeded with order and payment. A week latter the sideboard was delivered. Wow, that was fast... But there is where all about good shopping experience ends.. It was dirty, full of dust, with spider webs. We even got a couple of spiders with it! OK... we were ready to clean it and keep it, but then noticed that on the top of the dirt, dust,spider webs and spiders, it was damaged. We called the store and on request, we sent the photos of the damage. We got reply that the new piece will be ordered and delivered. And then saga of our never ending-calls and their never-ending lies and promises that a new sideboard is on its way and will be delivered next week, starts and has not finished yet! After number of calls and messages, sales person, Kuldeep, directed us to talk to the store manager, called Sam or dearly called Sammy by other reviewer. Sam, or Sammy, of course, ignores all our calls. Did I mention that this story started 2 months ago, and has not finished yet? Btw I tried to contact the central using "Contact Us" form and phone, but neither works the phone is not available in Canada??? Bottom line - HUGE disappointment and frustration. This company is pure example how the business should not be done and how customers should not be treated. They deserve 10 black stars I wish they are supported. Save yourself time and go to some other store!!!! After all, they just sell furniture made by others and whatever you can find there you can certainly find in some other store with decent customer support and where they will really treat you as customer deserves!
