Welcoming, relaxing, professional, and collaborative. How can a hair salon be collaborative? They are not possessive about their clients. They work on fundraisers together. And now, they are working with a not-for-profit to train marginalized girls in hairdressing. All of that AND I am happy with my haircut from the moment I walk out to the moment I walk back in weeks later, my husband's thinning hair looks fuller, and my children are eager to have their hair cut!

I am I picky person for hair dressers... I'm always disappointed. BUT!!! This place is amazing. I had Lisa. Awesome UK woman. I would give her white card for my hair. I felt like in a spa treatment. Coffee, chocolate, laughs, nice head massage. Lisa knows her products, knows her job. She is passionate about it and that's what I like. I trust that salon and I trust her. I heard good things about the other girls as well. Until I stay in the lower mainland, I will go there for sure. After all that... I though oh my... This is going to cost me over 100$... But no!! Half that... Wow

Joy Hair Studio is my favourite hair salon. I return there for all my hair care needs, knowing that I will be looked after. Tara and her team are experienced stylists and truly desire to make their clients hair look great. They are happy to work with you to create a colour and hair style that suits your life style and they will be honest about what will work best. I also enjoy the fancy coffee that they give me to sip while I am waiting for my colour to set.

I am sorry to say I would definitely not recommend this hair salon to anyone. I recently had a keratin hair straightening treatment done at this salon. It was very apparent that the stylist I had was inexperienced with this treatment. More disturbing, however, was the reaction of the manager when I called to tell her about my disappointment with the results. She was rude, condescending, and implied I was lying. Do not believe their website, which says that they stand by their service and will make you happy if for any reason you are dissatisfied. It's totally untrue. I have never felt less respected or cared for as a customer by any hair salon I have ever visited. I have since spoken to other stylists who confirm that the treatment did not work as it should have. It makes me angry to think that I shelled out hundreds of dollars to these people to have hair that is the same as I have always had. And the owner was rude and insulting on top of it all. So, my advice is just keep your money and go elsewhere. They don't deserve your business.

Tara is very experienced and does a excellent job of covering my grey hair. I have been a client of hers for 15+ years . She makes great suggestions.. to best suit her customer needs. Would highly recommend her..
