Jonathan M. Wainwright Memorial VA Medical Center

The councillor with the Bulgarian last name literally gave me a panic attack. My heart rate was at 97 when I went to my next appt about 20 mins later. She should be fired. Another thing, you have to come mon, tues or wed to get an ID because the only lady that knows how to take pictures only works 3 days a week. The other 2 people that work in that department just sit there all day. They both are rude and they both are lazy. Why doesn't the VA crosstrain them so they can take pictures when the "special picture-taking lady" is gone? Because they don't give a $#%!. Veterans are willing to die for these people, having never met them, yet they constantly give us the run-around. Never join the military kids. It's not what it seems. The government doesn't care about you. If you want to stand up for your family and community find another way. The US Military complex is THE most evil military on the face of the earth. Fight for God..not a country made by men that do not care about you.

Never any problem getting the best care available! I have never been treated with such respect and care, I have never been let down when I needed care!! You folks at Jonathan Wainwright memorial are to be commended!

Not crowded which is nice, however showing up for your doctor's appt you are at the mercy of them coming to check you in when they remember. There is a front desk but it's not in service, and all the doors are locked, so you just sit and wait for the graces of the workers to come out and talk to you. Been sitting for 40 minutes and haven't talked to nobody. Some of the other offices have Machines to check you in which is quick and easy. Also my doctor showed up over 80 minutes late didn't apologize and didn't even examine or talk, he just stared at the computer screen and didn't address any of my concerns. Phone operators are nice, however I was in the ER and called to inform them to take care of billing, the operator never inputted it into the system and I got stuck with the bill nearly avoiding collections.

Mental health clinic is wonderful. Lab prompt and polite. Doctors are hit and miss. Even the fairly good ones seem to have hearing problems when a patient is speaking. Pharmacy is a total disaster. Unless you are standing in front of them they can't get a prescription right. They release prescriptions for window pick up that are supposed to be mailed (usually critical meds. Pain meds, mental health meds etc...). 3 of the last 4 months I have had to go to the facility just to get one, the same one, medication picked up to prevent the serious side effects of running out. Trips I cannot be reimbursed for! I recommend seeing if you qualify for the Choice program. The program is not without its own problems but they are better than having a doctor tell you that your pain medication is causing your pain, not the disc that is crushing your spinal cord.

I believe we have the best VA Medical Center in the country. Every time I have been there I have been treated with respect and outstanding medical care. I am not sure what is happening across the country with all the bad reports about not taking care of our vets but that's not the story here at the Jonathan M. Wainwright Medical Center. A big THANK YOU for the care and the outstanding service you give me.
