Here are the facts of a divorce settlement that he negotiated.
1. 20% of my net salary went to my ex-wife for child support. I am now aware of other IL cases where the husband paid only 10%. John gave me the impression my 20% was the only option.
2. I pay 50% of all medical bills and child care costs, which have to be sent within 14 days.
3. The opposing attorney cornered us into leveraging additional costs of discovery, against his decision to sacrifice my W2 every year.
4.Most real progress occurred with a face to face with opposing counsel. Had we done this a year earlier, lots of legal fees would have been saved.
5.The opposing counsel, was more invested in her client.
6. No doubt I tried to contain the costs, which could have hampered John's performance, but who wouldn't express concern on a $300./hr attorney.
8. All final documents were prepared by opposing counsel, and I was still charged for drafts that weren't used.
Mr. Carbary didn't do a bad job, but there wasn't anything special that said I should choose him again if I had to repeat the matter.

Never again will I hire John Carberry.
Over priced and didn't keep his word.
I strongly recommend not hiring him for any reason what so ever.
