No Frills is a fantastic place to shop for groceries! They offer great quality at unbeatable prices, making it perfect for anyone on a budget. The store is well-organized, and their weekly deals and discounts are hard to beat. With a wide variety of fresh produce, pantry staples, and frozen items, you’ll find everything you need in one place. The PC Optimum program is an added bonus, letting you earn points on every purchase. Affordable, convenient, and reliable—No Frills is always a great choice!
Very disappointing experience at John’s No Frills in Newmarket. We questioned a pricing issue where the flyer clearly showed no limit on a discounted item, and even another customer confirmed this. We also double-checked the store’s price tag, which had no mention of a limit either. The manager came over, spoke to my wife rudely and loudly, and said, “If the owner says this is the price, then this is the price,” refusing to explain or acknowledge what was printed. When we calmly asked for an apology, he told us to “get out” of the store.nWe were totally fine with limits on sale items—we simply expected transparency and a basic apology.nWe submitted a complaint to No Frills Customer Service. They promised a reply in 5–7 business days, but we never heard back. Weeks later, we followed up and got an automated message saying the case was closed, with no explanation at all. Completely unacceptable customer service.
Avoid this NoFrills. The store had a POWER OUTAGE for over 8 hours and they still continued to sell the meat and frozen food. The freezers had their frost melted as water dripped from many of their icecream and popsicles. The store tried to use folded cardboard on the bunkers to quickly circulate the cold air. The manager chose not to throw away the spoiled food or close the store so they can profit. Serious health protocols that can cause their customers to be ill.
Our favorite grocery store! The staff is friendly, professional, and always helpful. The produce is fresh and high quality. Thank you for your great work. We’d love to see a fresh fish section added as well!
The manager declined to disclose the quantity limits on promotional items, despite the flyer indicating they are limited. While most stores typically allow up to four units, this location only permitted one, with no signage posted to inform customers. Additionally, I observed a white customer purchasing three units without issue, and the cashier processed the transaction without question. This inconsistent enforcement of policy is disappointing and reflects poorly on the store's management.
