Dear Store Owner/Manager of Dickie’s No Frills,nI am writing to express my frustration and disappointment with the experience I had at your store recently, as it left me feeling embarrassed, singled out, and treated unfairly.nI visited your store early in the morning to purchase turkeys that were on sale. When I arrived around 8:00 a.m., there was absolutely no signage or indication that there was a limit. Based on that information, I picked up five turkeys—not just for my household, but also for my in-laws. However, when I went to check out around 8:55 a.m., a cashier who wasn’t even the one scanning my items stopped me and abruptly informed me that there was now a limit on the turkeys.nI felt extremely uncomfortable and put on the spot. I explained clearly that I had not seen any limit posted when I selected the items. I even asked another customer standing right there, and they confirmed the same thing: there was no sign indicating any limit earlier that morning. Despite this, the cashier called the meat manager, who insisted there was a limit and made me feel as though I had intentionally tried to take more than I should. It was upsetting and quite humiliating to be treated that way in front of other customers when I had done nothing wrong.nWhat made the situation even more frustrating is that this is not the first time something like this has happened. A few weeks ago, there was a similar issue during the oil sale—people had no problems taking multiple bottles, and then suddenly a limit appeared afterward. These inconsistencies create a confusing and uncomfortable shopping experience.nTo add to my frustration, I was able to purchase four turkeys before Thanksgiving with no limit at your store. After today's incident, I went to yet another No Frills location and purchased three more turkeys—again with absolutely no limit displayed.nThis inconsistency between locations—and even within the same store on the same day—is extremely disappointing. I fully understand the importance of ensuring that all customers have access to sale items, but limits must be clear, visible, and consistent. Being stopped at the checkout and treated as though I was doing something wrong, when there were no signs posted, felt unfair and honestly quite disrespectful to me as a loyal customer.nI hope you can look into what happened, address the inconsistency in signage, and ensure clearer communication going forward. No customer should be made to feel embarrassed or accused over something that was not properly posted by the store!
Not a good location. The No Frills flyer does NOT indicate there is a limit on product, but when you go in store, they start implementing their own limits with home-made signs. The other locations do not implement the same limits. They are out here doing their own thing and it's misleading when the actual No Frills Flyer doesn't have limits.
This is a great location in Newmarket. The aisles are well spaced and not crowd compared to other locations. Produce are well sourced and fresh. For those who are looking for a quick in and out, there are cashier-less check out stations, making it super convenient.nn5/07: They have an express pick up. Very convenient
My review started negative: no bananas, broccoli is clearly days past fresh and is rotting, couldn't find corn tortillas, again.nnMy review improved as:nnOne of your young men in produce was every helpful and kind.nnI observed your dairy manager exhibit grace and kindness when interacting with a cognitively exceptional young man, who through no fault of his own was inappropriately engaging with some customers nothing threatening whatsoever. In your next life, consider a career in special education, my friend; you handled the situation perfectly.
Best cashier at this location is Jennifer! She is so very patient, thoughtful and overall a very nice person. My husband shops there every week and he always goes through her line. I hope No Frills provides her with some recognition for the amazing and dedicated staff member she is.
