We are a full service convenience store, canteen and also an NSLC Agency Store. We have a large variety of household items, groceries and movie rentals.

Story

In April 2013 we moved to our brand new location at 3318 Highway 4, Central West River.We are just east of our old location between Exit 19 and 20 of the Trans Canada Highway 104.

I went to John's country canteen to pick up liquor for a friend as I don't drink. Well I was in there I saw a baked goods and I have a sweet tooth. They have good prices everything I bought was delicious and I'll definitely go back out there for myself instead of someone else next time.
Good store all around. They have freshly made ground beef and Jerky. Ice cream , liquor store and your general convenience store items. Friendly staffguess I don't give it a 5 because 5 is perfect and they would have to have it all to be a 5. A 4 is a very great score.
What a great little convience/market store. And, very very friendly. They carry a wide variety of items at a very reasonable price than you would expect. We are very lucky to be only a few minutes away. Bob and Donna
Great location for this store, right off the highway, especially for long haulers for a quick stop. Has a take out menu including fish and chips and is now serving Ice cream too!
A great place to get those missed items from the grocery store.
Nice place to visit. Can find many things there including baked goods, quality greeting cards at good prices. There is also a little liquor store in it and an ice cream canteen which you can get as a cone or in a cup. Usually stop there every time we're in the area.
Probably the biggest serving of hard ice cream cone in Pictou County ! A small is huge! I know I would never eat a large.
Always a great place to go for all the essentials as well as the weekend drinks. Staff are friendly! The smell of the cinnamon buns is killer!! Gotta say the mask hides that I'm drooling. Lol!! Highly recommend!
Amazing fresh baked goods and great Donair sausages
The best food ever took awhile to get but worth the wait you won't be disappointed
