I go to Joe’s No Frills once a week to stock-up on staples and household supplies. Having gone here for years, you get to recognize a lot of the staff. I have always found the team at this location to be courteous and friendly. The pandemic has added to a lot of stocking and shelving issues with grocery stores and I have to say the shelves are still fairly stocked at this location. There are a few sections where stock is limited but I don’t believe that to be a merchandising issue within the store because I see a lot of people stocking shelves, cleaning and organizing grocery items while I’m in the store. I think the empty shelf spaces are part of our bigger pandemic issues and not in-store merchandising. With the holidays quickly approaching, I’ll make a few more extra trips to No Frills for my Christmas baking needs and party supplies. The prices here on certain items are consistently lower than the competitors produce and veggies, baking supplies and frozen foods including juice. A good grocery store overall that is always busy which translates into a good turn around on products making them fresh and within their expiry date.
I try to use the automated cash out to give the cashiers a break. When there is incorrect pricing it will take extra time to try and correct it as I found out today, after 15 minutes of my wasted time it still was not resolved. They were two price errors. I pointed out the law that they must honour items up to $10:00 when priced wrong. I thought that 3 employees were enough to correct the issue. Then a fourth employee came and said no. I went back 20 minutes later to take pictures of the wrong tags. They had not been removed. One of the 3 employees refused to give me the fourth employee's name. Said she "didn't know" Turns out it's "Yanis" The yogurt scanned at $3:39 each at the cash out, not two for $2:50. The tomato cans price tag said 88¢ scanned at $1:00. The Westons are billionaires. They have increased profits while the rest of us deal with food inflation prices. They have previously been found guilty of price fixing bread These pricing errors are intentional: why else would wrong pricing tags not be removed?
Produce is extremely fresh. They limited ethnic selection, which was disappointing. We were just over an hour and the parking person charged us 12.00 even though parking is supposed to be free when you shop at no frills.
Grocery Shopping at No Frills always cheaper as they do price match. But this one doesn't have special offers like Ramadan, Vaishakhi or, Easter. This is bigger than the Ali's No Frills and bit crowded. But, better to check with Ali's No Frills for special flyer offers.
It seems to be busy/crowded every time I'm there but these days, you can't blame ppl wanting to get the lowest prices they can. I've had a few cases of a product and/or portion size not being available but for a discount location, they do a fairly good job keeping items stocked.
The store is clean and organized. Customer Service was really slow because their supervisor told them to do something a certain way that did not make sense, which delayed me unnecessarily. The older attendants at selfcheckout who have worked there a while are really good. Sometimes there is far too loud club-type music playing that is irritating. I wish they would opt for easy listening music catered to all ages. Weekends are the worst times to shop, it is a rough crowd.
Even though this is a No Frills, the pricing is really more in line with a Loblaws. Many of the items they sell are double the price of the neighbouring stores like Fresco and Food Basics. Selection is pretty good and they even have a few No Name items that I've only seen here. Their produce is meh, but that shouldn't be surprising for a "discount" grocer, even if the prices don't reflect that.
The No Frills supermarket has a “won’t be beat policy”, which is hard to beat... They also have one hour free parking when you spend over $20. Watch out for meat on sale; it’s not always fresh, and watch out for expired cereal boxes. Fruits and vegetables are usually good and on sale. The supermarket may more properly have been called the “No Name” Supermarket. Despite the presence of all major food brands at this grocery store, there is a visible presence of the yellow “No Name” brand, not only on the 5 shelves that make up each side of its nine plus food and beverage field isles, but also in the supermarket’s marketing and advertising colour theme. No Frills is definitely the grocery store you need to visit for good deals e.g. 24 bottles of 500 ml water for under $2.00.
I didn't used to like here because vegetables are not fresh. But I was lured to here by the advertisement. Actually It was really satisfactory!! Now they handle some organic vegetables and gluten-free items as well. Whole goods are being wide open without any obstructions. The best bargains sold out in one and a half hours after opening though. Anyway, here undersells the other stores in this city I think. Oh you should be careful to bring loonie for a rental shopping cart. Plus, no VISA. Only debit or cash.
I absolutely love that there's parking here cuz I hate downtown driving and stopping because they ticket ppl are going crazy over there mein They going crazy right now no lie holy so cheap But store layout was good love shopping nofrills even tho I usually go to Walmart but there so much ppl ovur durr man yaaaaaa
