The food is usually pretty good, nice toppings, price is a little more than I'd like to pay for a burrito but when I crave it I get it. They had never messed up so I never bother to go to Mucho Burrito across the street. Except for this one time shown in the picture, went to the gym then was hoping to get a nice protein filled post workout meal....didn't happen. Pulled up to Jimmy Guaco's at 9:50pm, I know they close at 10, but then again they do close at 10 RIGHT? Nope! I guess they closed at 9:50 that night, as per the two lovely ladies working at the establishment. Door was locked, open sign was lit, 10 minutes to spare, they literally laughs together when I tried to open the lock door and didn't even acknowledge me. Won't be back, I'm now officially a loyal Mucho Burrito customer right across the street in the walmart plaza.
This is one of my Favorite places to eat. All the employees are amazing too. The wraps, the bowls, even the kids Queso is too good. They have Kale, and different Salas too which I have not seen at any other Mexican fast food. But recently I have noticed from past one month they are a bit less organized and they are always running out of something or the other. Red onions, Lettuce, Banana Pepper, Chicken etc... I wish them success and if the management can look into small things that would be amazing. I love this place.
Been a customer here for a long time. This is my favorite burrito spot. I walked into Jimmy's the other night waiting to order after 5 min of waiting a worker comes out from the back and says " Hi sorry we are closed"... I said it's only 9:20 it says your open till 10... The worker replied to me " nope we just closed". And to top it off this has been the third time this has happened!! 2 other times they have closed way before hours state. Won't be coming back.
For me, Jimmy Guac is tops in the Durham region for chain restaurant burritos I'd say over all. Good ingredients and great sauce options. Their nacho chips are also pretty good. Could have had a bit more salsa/queso for them but good enough I could have likely asked for a bit more. Kid-friendliness: Not hard to find something that the kids will eat.
Food tasted amazing. However the portion size was a joke. My salad was half full at best and it was supposed to be a large salad. The burrito was a small but should have been called mini. This was not a burrito off of the kids menu either.
I found the staff friendly, the food delicious and reasonably priced and great portions.. They have sparkling water free on tap. It is not a franchise and is privately owned. I ordered sweet potato fries, and a burrito. They loaded it with Good for no extra charge,unlike some chainfood mexican restaurants. Inside it was clean, very tall chairs. I noticed a lot of EMS people visiting. Usually that is a good sign that the food is good....or that you need help.
Honestly, the worst Quesedilla I've ever had in my life. Everything was soggy and nasty. Chicken was flavorless and box was filled with liquid like a soup. Disgusting!
Once upon a time this place was good. Then they changed the fish they used and it got worse. Just had it again recently after a while and the beef in the burrito was underwhelming and kinda dry and the fish was still just so so. It might be just coincidently the times that I go but they always seem to be out of various toppings. With all of these other burrito places to try nearby I'm not sure I'd come back. It's not terrible. Just not what it used to be. And prices have jumped but then again so has everywhere else.
Would give 0 stars if I could. Came in just before 10pm they close at 11pm and was told they would not serve us because their system was down earlier by someone who seemed to be the manager. Seemed really off so I called in and another employee said they are just closing early because they are low on some veggies. Waste of a 25 minute drive each way
Food was really good . Chilli fries, tacos, nachos were delicious. Worker recommended some hot hot level spices from the back and it truly exemplified Mexican cuisine. Hottttttt sauces . I recommend this restaurant for good fast food Mexican style cuisine
