My husband and I were interested in upgrading our wedding first dance a little bit, to add something to a traditional slow dance. We were made to feel very comfortable, and Clara was able to incorporate very simple choreography that made us feel like we were dancing naturally, but with a few simple spins and the classic dip. I have danced my whole life, but my husband struggled a bit with the rhythm and timing at first, but after 3 lessons, we were able to put together a very nice, classy first wedding dance. The crowd loved our spontaneous coordinated moves, and we loved every minute of performing it!
My wife and I completed JC Dance Co's wedding first dance package 2 weeks ago and we debuted the dance at our wedding just last week! I was a bit nervous at first, but Clara's fun and easy-going approach to dance made me feel extremely comfortable; I can honestly say that we LOVED the lessons! Every class was so much fun! We're also REALY glad that we followed Clara's suggestion to not choreograph the dance, but rather to learn the basic moves to their "natural dancing" approach. This made our first dance feel so genuine and we were able to be in-the-moment rather than trying to remember our steps! The TRUE BEAUTY of JC's natural dancing approach is now, I can turn on the music and dance with my wife whenever we want! Any couples wanting to enjoy dancing with their partner should definitely learn JC Dance Co's natural dancing!
We took the beginner wedding dance classes with Joel. With no dance experience, Joel taught us spins, lifts, the dip, how to string them together, and how to communicate our movements. Joel was a fantastic teacher! He made the classes fun, easy, and stress-free. My wife was initially nervous, but even when we were fumbling around, Joel was able to coach us through it and after only a few lessons, we now feel way more confident in our skills. On our wedding day we were able to just relax and have fun with our dance and we also have fun dancing at the park :. I have no hesitation recommending JC Dance Co - go get dancing! It's a ton of fun!
My Husband and I had such a great time working on the first dance for our wedding with Joel. Since both of us were beginners, we were initially looking for a choreographed dance but very soon realized the benefits of the natural dance approach that didn't require us to memorize any dance moves and allowed us to enjoy the moment instead! Joel was an amazing instructor and in just 4 lessons, gave us the confidence and skill set for a beautiful first dance. He was extremely enthusiastic and encouraging. It was an absolute pleasure to learn from him. We will definitely be back!
We signed up for the four lesson package with Joel before our wedding. After just one lesson, we knew several moves and were so excited to practice and continue to learn. Joel made everything feel easy and comfortable. After the four lessons, we had a routine we were happy with that was specifically catered to our song choice. Throughout the process, from initial inquiry to their final check in after our wedding, JC Dance was great. We will definitely be recommending them to any friends who are getting married soon!
My dad and I took lessons with Joel for our father daughter dance. He was amazing, and made it so simple and so fun! Joel gave us the skills to really take the pressure off on the big day. There is no set choreography which we really liked. Joel taught us his “home base method” which makes the dance flexible and stress free. I would highly recommend Joel. If you’re looking for someone to help you prepare for your wedding day he is your guy!
My wife and I worked with Joel leading up to our wedding to feel more comfortable / natural on the dance floor. Joel has a contagious energy that immediately helped us relax and enjoy every moment. Not only did we come away with a first-dance we were really proud of, we felt the dance lessons were one of our favourite elements of wedding planning. It's also a great tool for relationship development as it focuses on trust and non-verbal communication. Fantastic experience.
My now wife and I went to Joel one week before the wedding with ZERO experience. After one 1.5 hour session, not only were we confident and having fun, we had 5-6 moves and a semi-coordinated routine for our specific first dance song which Joel has you work on from the start of the session. Although we never really got to practice much before the wedding, we totally nailed it and are now excited anytime we get the chance to show off our dance skills! Joel is an absolute class act, a total expert and the lesson was 1000% worth it. 5 stars well earned!
We are SO glad we chose JC Dance Co to get us comfortable dancing for our wedding. We had 4 1hr lessons in Vancouver where we danced and learned different moves and it made us feel super comfortable and confident leading up to our wedding dance! We did a trial at a different place but they wanted to do many lessons teaching us a full variety of ballroom steps, all felt way too formal and structured for our wedding. In contrast, JC Dance Co taught us a simple step that felt natural and relaxed, and then taught us fun spins, lifts, and dips that we could throw in and showed us how to structure our dance like a loose routine. Clara worked with us and she was so fun, friendly, and always smiling. One of the most fun parts of our reception was when we did a spontaneous "last dance" at the end of the night and with everything Clara taught us it was so easy and fun to make it up as we went! Learning to dance together is something we can now take with us, build on, and enjoy throughout the rest of our lives. Can't thank you enough and so glad we invested in this :
We had the absolute pleasure of having Joel coach my new husband and I for a dance lesson prior to our wedding. In 2, 45 minute lessons, he not only gave us confidence and a handful of moves to work with our song, he gave us the perfect advice for our big moment and it was an absolute hit! The short lessons went a very long way and we would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone. We will be going back for more lessons to continue the fun for the future. THANK YOU Joel!!
