Husband saw Dr Garby; reported struggling w/major depression in several spots on intake pw; when DG asked him about it, DG undermined his mental health, laughing at him when H explained depression is caused by dire financial situation & being my FT caretaker, as Im wheelchair bound, w/many issues H manages alone w/his own disabilities, which leads to his selfneglect. While laughing at H/joking that DG is retired& never had financial worries, DG suggested H leave me for woman w/money who can support him financially. H was so upset he walked out. I was a therapist before my disability & cant stress how unethical, irresponsible, harmful, ableist, derogatory, & dangerous DGs comments were. Men are less likely to report MH symptoms, esp. depression. Im proud of H seeking help & seeing him belittled for it by a MD was appalling. Being a caretaker it's harder for H to accept help. DG shouldnt be permitted to practice medicine. He will be reported to licensing board. H married a therapist/has a strong support network, but if DG makes those statements to the wrong patient, he could cause a murder/suicide. His actions are grossly inappropriate & he caused H harm. DG violated the Hippocratic Oath & intentionally caused harm while laughing/taking sadistic pleasure in it. He shouldn't interact with patients or interact w/them on any level.

Extremely professional, helpful, explain everything so you can understand and answer every question you have. Include you in the decision making on your course of treatment.
