James Street Café & Grill

Nice restaurant on Canada Way and one block East of Boundary. They have a large menu with many different choices of foods. Especially interesting if you like Indian cuisine. They serve several Indian dishes, burgers and other lighter items. Their lamb curry is very good. You can also get barbecued/tandoori dishes. Service is good. They also have red and white wines and beer. Prices are reasonable. Portions are generous.

I came in with my family for an early dinner on a Sunday and introduced myself to the owner and reminded him that the last time I brought my take out home and noticed the kebabs overcooked and dry like a rock I was told I would have a complimentary order of kebabs next time, which he honoured. However when we ordered our mains, we waited over 45minutes and had to ask our server 3 times about our food. Once we received it, no one came back to check in on us until we finished. At that time we had waited so long we took most of it home. On our way out we stopped at the front desk to buy some chapatis, I mentioned to the owner how long we had to wait for dinner. He did apologize and said they had large catering orders. When we were about to buy one take away item, I asked if he’d honour a small discount and he started accusing me of grinding for freebies and said you already got free kebabs! How insulting! Speaking to a customer like that and after the fact of me pointing out that the kebabs were a separate matter he had told me personally I would have a credit and after me deciding to even come back with my family was showing good faith to dine there again, but to insult a customer and then he refused to ring in our purchase and walks away, that is unacceptable behaviour of a restaurant owner. Just because I am of Indian ethnicity, you have no right to speak to me or others like this. You have certainly lost my business, my family’s and friends who live in that area. I will not support a business owner who takes pride to insult as well as make a mockery of a customer who is providing honest feed back . And I agree with other posts, the food is bland. The ribs were not seasoned at all, the kebabs again were dry and without taste and the vegetable curry tasted like it had canned green beans not even fresh. More reason to not dine here, really not worth your money.

Really nice interior design. Very clean. Breakfast menu till 3pm. Lunch special. Size of the portions is good. I tried Curry Lamb and I have to tell that meat wasn't as tender as I expected. Paying $17.90 after tax for something you don't really enjoy is a bit upsetting.

The food is avsolutely amazing...like WOW....great atmosphere and vert reasonably priced. The husband and Wife owners are a class act. Must try.

The Food was Amazing the last time we came here was for someone's birthday. This was our first time on lunch hour,I would rate 5 out of 5 food,services and everything was out standing
