Well I was having fantastic time. Reviewable. Five stars. The karaoke was involved, the drinks were quick and the prices were good enough. You pay enough for a high quality drink. Had a minor incident about moving off the stairs. Moved. One of the men manning the door was incredibly rude. When I went in to try to ask his name, he pushed me physically from the building, under little pretense. The office staff addressed it very professionally however. Props to the staff for their quick and thorough response.
Impressed after my first visit and second and third. You might not expect such well-prepared and well-presented food from a VFW, which means you’ll be in for a surprise. The entrees here deliver a lot of flavor and bang for your buck. Unless you have a hard time leaving anything on your plate like me, you’ll probably have enough for two meals. The chimichanga first sold me. It’s the size of your forearm and sits on a mountain of crispy potatoes. They have a good-sized menu with some nice salad options if you’re looking for something on the lighter side.
I would get be it zero stars if possible. I’ve been to the VFW before & had no issues. This time I went and used the bathroom, they must have over served a lady. She busted my bathroom door open and punched me. I told the security and even talked to their head. There solution was to kick me out due to “being involved with the fight”, which I wasn’t, I was assaulted by a lady who broke into my bathroom stall. Shame on them, I hope they get shut down for condoning assault, especially in a place like the bathroom.
The uptown VFW is so nice! Great sound and fun place to see shows! Especially local bands like the rope!
Good place to have my uncle's celebration of life an the room was big enough. Very friendly staff. First time being there. It was very well cleaned. Bathrooms were good as well. Kids can go there as well. Food was delicious.
Nice venue for listening to a band. Quite a lot of things to do here including Kareoke. Staff was awesome, very respectful and happy to help
The bar is, basically, a remodeled bento box. I say this because the diversity is there, but it def does not mix. Staff is nice and it stays nice because it's flooded with security. There was a lot of people having fun, but not a hobo was in sight! The quality/ service here was undeniably good.
Our kids perform occasionally here for their School of Rock shows. It is a great venue, perfect set up and ideal show. The food is great and the staff are super nice. We look forward to our future visits.
Best VFW I've ever been 3 separate areas more like 3 different venues Pool tabs great music good food
I am so impressed with the renovation of the performance space because it is Huge & the sound is fantastic. Great staff and a welcoming atmosphere makes the James Ballentine VFW a notable venue in the Twin Cities. Highly suggested for Great entertainment & if you're a veteran a place to be a regular. Enjoy!
