Jake's Bar & Grill

I hate to give such a low rating but the only saving grace was the staff. I arrived at the establishment at 17:15. The bar staff was extremely friendly with the exception of one. When asked what I was drinking I informed them i did not know exactly as I had asked the previous bartender to pick. The look I was given was that as though i was wasting their time. I decided to relax and enjoy the insanely crazy atmosphere. This place was very packed for 5 o'clock. The bartenders were very attentive to the patrons at the bar while obviously keeping the demands of the restaurant. The down fall came once i decided to order food. I went with the 16 oz ribeye, no side, and house salad. A rather simple order for the $39.95 price tag. The house salad came out within minutes (18:11). It was a very well prepared salad. I would expect the quick response on a salad. I ended up ordering another beer to pass the time. After 30 minutes of waiting i placed my card on the bar (18:40) to close my tab. It was at this point the bar staff asked for someone to check the status of my main course. They ran my card and I closed out. It was at this point the steak was placed in front of me (18:45) and the bar staff informed me they would get me a box. Had that not happened I was on my way out with or without the items ordered. I understand long ticket times during a rush. But I would hope given the price paid and the amazing atmosphere this would be under control or watched closer. At the end of it all I did enjoy a very well made steak in my hotel room. I would have preferred staying at the restaurant for that but that did not pan out. At the end of it all great atmosphere, very nice staff, nice facility, and super packed. Just would hope fore better ticket times and or updates on the status of my order. A simple communication of "I am sorry for the delay but our kitchen is slammed and it will be out shortly" would have saved this entire experience. Running a multi state service organization I have this same discussion with my employees on the importance of communication with the customer.

Our waitress was excellent. The appetizer was the only shining star of the dinner. I ordered lobster bisque soup that was disgusting. Full of corn, very little lobster, weird after taste. I also ordered the Jake steak medium rare. My steak was extremely over cooked. Sauce was excellent though. For an $80 meal between the two of us... Extremely disappointing.

Time and time again, Jakes restaurant delivers quality food and service. I sincerely love the consistent high quality and diversity of dishes. One of my favorite date spots for a nice lunch for me and the missus.

Really enjoyed our late lunch in the bar on Saturday afternoon. Food and service were both terrific. Crab dip appetizer very tasty. Husband devoured his crispy pork sandwich. Steak salad was one of best I've ever had...very flavorful. Our server even helped change tv to our favorite team's game! We are traveling cross country and are glad we found Jake's!
