Jack Astor's Bar & Grill

I love this place! However I think it's because the menu was so awesome a year ago, I find myself struggling with the new menus. Clearly not as good but acceptable. It needs a little more local fair to it, I ate there this weekend and for 5 of us it was $202 + tip we each had a drink an appetizer and a main (no desert) so basically $50 per person, it's not cheap to eat there, but the ambiance is great and the staff is as well. The draft beer is not refreshing it's too warm (just about my only complaint) I've asked the last 5 times if they could make it colder but to no avail, oh well, I'll just load up on soft drinks, I'll come back

I wish I didn't like their Buddha Salad/pad Thai/ fajitas as much as I do, because every time we go in, we receive horrible customer service (when we actually do see our server). Like clockwork, when it comes time to pay the bill and leave a tip, the server finally comes around and is extra friendly. But otherwise, managers or other servers are the ones bringing our food out and bartenders run the drinks over. While it's nice to help each other out, it's incredibly inefficient for everyone. And the easy solution is to ensure servers aren't being over seated, and that hostesses know how to rotate where guests are sat. I've worked in restaurants my whole life, so I know there are off days, but this happens every single time we go in - and we come in often. It just seems like the servers have too large of sections, are being double or triple seated and morale is just generally low. As a customer, having to ask hostesses or anyone you can flag down for missing parts of your order or a drink, etc., isn't the experience you want when you're out celebrating, or trying to have a nice meal. Like I said, I wish I didn't like the food as much, because every time we leave I swear off going back because the customer service is just so terrible and it's overpriced. (I know it's a chain and they can't do anything about that).

Great food and pleasant setting for a meal. I like their selection and try something new every time I visit. Lots of parking and lots of other shops in the immediate area.

While it's a sports bar it doesn't feel like you can't go in and have a nice meal. I enjoy the food and the atmosphere

A good and economical option for beer and simple food. Quire spacious, quick service and easy on the purse.
