This location is like a mini Italian Centre! Has a nicely stocked deli counter in the back, the various dry goods, as well as fresh produce. Not to mention a VERY large bakery section that has an overwhelming selection of treats to choose from! They also have a section for seating as well if you decide your pastries won't make it to the car. Also don't forget to grab one of the Hot or Mild Panini sandwiches in the fridges beside the cash registers! They are literally to die for!
Love the selection they get! Only place in the city where I have been able to find Kinder Brioss for a decent price close to me! I also love the deli section and the pasta for home!! I drop by every now and then just to see if I missed trying something!
All of the tables inside were dirty. I saw coffee cups with cafe rings. This was not a situation were a bunch of people just left. The staff just were not clearing tables. No manager was on site. The young teenager boy was harrassing the cashier. It was like fast times at Ridgemont high. I was stunned at the experience.
This feels like a smaller Italian grocery store. The bakery is very popular. I belive the fresh home made pasta is the highlight of this store. I have it all that the location is very convenient.
Our favourite bakery - great selection in the deli, fresh pasta, and the bakery is amazing we always grab a panini and the cup of tiramisu - clearly enjoying our meal too much to take a photo first.
My husband went there to get my birthday cake this weekend. We asked for the Nutella cake. It was definitely not Nutella and I was more icing then cake. The icing was poor quality and the cake was definitely cheap. I expect higher quality cakes from there not what I could get ar walmart. We also bought cannolis and there were flavorless and the shell was stale. We also bought some tortellini and Alfredo sauce. Again no flavor and nothing special. We will not be going back.
Ready to eat food is less than mediocre. Location and ambiance is nice. Also, a decent choice of European food. I assume majority of good reviews here come from people who would eat a piece of cardboard soaked in sugar syrup and exclaim "Wow! Amazing! Best food I ever had!".
Awesome Italian cream cake! Came in day of party massively underprepared - so thankful they had a cake, ready-made and were pleased to add writing as well! Guest of honour and everyone very pleased. Also happy with the many gluten-free dry goods they have available for competitive prices!
I bought a few pastries to have them with my wife. We ended up throwing them into the garbage given that they were so dry! We kindly called to ask for a refund, that we would return the pastries to them and they said no. The place is very fancy so one may suppose their products are of great quality. I surely dupe myself. I love the Italian center, but since it's a bit far from St. Albert, I said I would give Mercato a try. I clearly made a mistake.The Italian center is not only better quality, but it also has the same price or better prices on their items.
I love it here!! Bakery is like no other I have ever seen in Edmonton! Real good selection of imported products. Very small aisles and not recommended when it is busy. Ordered 2 pieces of cake from the bakery case and unfortunately, the "young" fellow behind the counter packed both pieces of cake into a small box!! Needless to say, it was a mess when I got them home and opened the box up!! Please use individual packaging for these items...
