Incredible food and service! I've tried every single item on their menu and their food never fails to surprise me. There creative selection of specialty burgers are awesome . The food is always fresh and hot. I recommend Canteen Burger and Coleslaw Schnitzel and if you want to spice up your burger you should try Blazin Hot Burger. Staff were friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend!

Wow! DELICIOUS FOOD! Just had a freshly made, absolutely delicious schnitzel from here. Balance of flavours and pairing of ingredients is key here. Breading on the deep-fried chicken had a lovely crunchy texture and a toasted flavour. The chicken had the right thickness to cook quickly but not lose juiciness. The tangy sauce is lightly applied and dances with the earthy flavour of the pan-fried onions. The staff were wonderfully pleasant and showed me all of the frozen products for sale; local goods with simple ingredients, had to take some home. Love seeing and hearing patrons come in and speak the mother tongue. Highly recommend you come by to try! I can't wait to come again.

Today l tried their schnitzel and beef shawarma sandwich. lets start from the customer service, they were very fast and friendly, also the food came out like in no time as the order was ready in only few minutes. The two sandwiches were really tasty. This is the best Iraqi fast food restaurant, l really recommend because l know you will have such a great experience similar to the one l had today!

But I really highly appreciate human energy and love that i had in this place the owner is super happy and friendly guy the place is sooooo clean and when it comes to the food, you will find huge portions and super tasty food .. i am expecting a huge franchise all over canada for the ISHTAR family, cause this family and this business deserve the best because of the quality and the great customer services they are delivering over all the restaurants they have .. thanks for delivering happiness guys

LOVED IT! The burger is so big and the patty is thickk and juicy. A phenomenal and full of flavor sandwich. Definitely recommend visiting this place if you are craving a good burger, and you get a very friendly customer service :

Saw the place a few weeks ago and wanted to try it. Got a chance to dry today and was amazing. Small joint, take out only, friendly and quick service. The girl taking the orders guided me through what was what. Opted for their Hanoot Gus. Fresh bread, tons of meat and flavour. Almost couldn’t finish it. Watched people continuously cycle through ordering and picking up different meals and portions are good. Definitely a repeat and a must try if you haven’t.

We got frozen kebab, shawarma and schnitzel they were really good fresh and juicy must try. They have halal food.

Finally tried out Ishtar Canteen today, absolutely fantastic. Tahini Gus and Canteen Schnitzel. Could probably do with a little bit of extra sauce on the schnitzel but otherwise both sandwiches blew me away. Hanoot sauce is very similar to HP sauce, delicious. Staff were also very friendly, I'll definitely be going back. Shawarma has got very cookie-cutter and this is a fresh change. Love it.

Tried their gus, burger and schnitzel. Hanoot Gus: delicious Iraqi gus with fresh bread, minimal toppings and good meat. The only reason I don't give this 5 stars is sometimes the meat is over-spiced and there's one place that does gus better in my opinion. Chicken schnitzel: the best chicken schnitzel in my opinion, no one does this better than them. The chicken is fresh, large portions and juicy. Burger: my favourite thing on the menu, their burgers are top notch and their buns are fresh. They would give burger places a run for their money. Would definitely recommend this place for takeout. They also do large family platters as well.

Got the ‘Philly Not From Philly’ and it was very flavourless. The menu said it has bell peppers but there was not even a single piece of bell pepper just a few onions. Feels like I got ripped off after spending 15$.
