I visited this place yesterday. It’s 8km walk in total. Firstly I was surprised about the sheer silence , very soothing and fresh air. I also felt the sun rays are warm and intruding. I reached place at 6:00 PM and i just walked 6kms as I had work. I suggest people to go at 7:30 so they can experience beautiful sunset. You can also carry food as this place invites you to enjoy with great ambiance. Highly recommended.
The walk was so nice and peaceful, it's an 8km walk, so u need at least 2.5 hours to do it as they suggest. It's so peaceful there, but quite windy and chilly. We went at 6pm and because it gets dark early so they close the place by 7. As you walk, u can see the planes landing in the airstrip and they fly just above you, it's such a beautiful sight. A must to go if u want to have a quiet peaceful walk and just enjoy the scenery. The dogs must be leashed. We didn't manage to go far but there is a beach. There are lots of picnic tables on the side, alittle ahead, past the immediate parking that's right next to the jetty. I would definitely go again and recommend it.
Beautiful place to relax. Jetty walk is awesome with the view around 8 km long. Beautiful ocean view with little windy. Lots of parking space available. Washrooms also available. Perfect place for birds watching and enjoy planes, aeroplanes flying over the sea. Absolutely loved the place
A scenic regional park with a long, jetty walkway out into the ocean ~ 8km return. It can get windy at times. There's sandy beach, picnic tables, trails, bird watching, restrooms. Plenty of free parking. Being near a treatment facility, the smell can vary. Not the issue on my visit. Note the closing time for the park gate.
Always love going there. The sunset view is gorgeous and relaxing. Sometimes it’s crowded but still fresh air and sand beach. Worth a visit !!
Always enjoy going for a walk down the jetty, but never been able to walk to the end, too long and far away. You can see a lot of birds along the way. It is a totally different view when is low tide. And can watch beautiful sunset and plane landing if u go at the right time. Park gate close at 5pm in winter.
One of the best places to go for an evening walk. The straight 4kms stretch gives you the opportunity to walk 8kms to and fro and get your work out in. Not a lot of people know about this place so that's one good thing thats it's not as commercial as the sea wall. Great for bird watching if you're into it. Try and avoid on a low tide day as the back water can smell a bit and make the experience a little unpleasant at times. Highly recommended it for a lovely evening walk.
I thought if I run ‍ i’ll be able to finish the whole pier walk length in just 15-30 minutes. I ended up running for only few minutes and still no chance I’m anywhere near the end of the pier. So guys it’s better to walk and take your time and enjoy the view and planes landing and taking off .
Love this walk out the jetty. While it was windy, having the option of the lower level for wind protection is awesome. Didnt realize the lower level is also off-leash dog friendly too! 8km to the end and back is a great walk!
Beautiful park with all kind of nature, such as a group of birds flying, sunset seeing, and a long path walkway along with the beautiful ocean view. Airport is close to see that. Cool place must visit! Highly recommended.
