I’ve been twice because I had to return the the first bible I bought didn’t have the referencing numbers I like. They do not do returns but are happy to do exchanges and helped me by showing me all of the options of referencing they have available. I did find some of the staff could be a bit up front but they were extremely helpful and willing to help. The first time I had to ask an cleric to help the second a different staff member offered help when I was browsing.
This is a leaner look to the former Salem Storehouse. I like that they've kept most of the familiar setup, makes it easy to know where to look for things for previous patrons. The prices where decent and the selection was varied enough where it counted, some other options were quite limited. I would have appreciated if the big box of CDs where organized though, as fun as sorting through to find hidden gems might seem. Staff was friendly and greeted with a smile upon entry and exit. Great shoppe for christening/first communion gifts, BiblesCatholic and Protestant- several translations, also for that special hostess gift or home decor item. Love the Children's Book Dept and the sale rack. I usually look here first for almost any occasion. I prefer seeing my items before purchasing, rather than going on line. Very knowledgable, friendly staff.
Bought something that was terrible quality/not working. It was final sale but I tried to get a credit. They gave some weak replies about how closing, etc. But do they, or not, stand behind what they sell? I expected more from a Christian store to have quality products, and to have Godly values. Buyer beware, this place does not provide good customer service.esp when closing! Doug Sprunt Salem would have never treated customers so badly...
Very pleasant and organized store, with a wide variety of Christian literature and merchandise. Bibles at incredibly low prices! Hands down the best Christian bookstore I've visited in Canada.
Staff are knowledgable and eager to help. Place has three floors of stuffvfor yourself or as gifts. If they don't have what you want they will try and get it. They have communion gifts, wall hangingings, Bibles, puzzles, stuff for little ones and learning minds. They even have Bible covers. Go to check it out and browze, you will most likely see something interesting. They always have sales going on too. If its too far you can always call before you make the trip and speak to the staff. Enjoy your experience. Everytime I go, I come out happy. It may be because I found something to take with me.
I just left the bookstore the first time I have ever Visited I cannot express how utterly heartbroken I felt leaving Salem bookstore on Merivale road. I went there in hopes of finding a special gift for my Godchild he is severely developmentally challenged. I asked at the counter if someone could help me find this very special gift the gentleman at the counter turned me over to another associate who he felt could better assist me as he really knew “the stock” I cannot express how poorly I was treated my first impression suddenly turned into the most sinking feeling in my heart this individual could not have made me feel any less welcome he had no desire to help me in any way . When I got up to the cash I told the associate that this was my first time in the store and I was very disappointed in the way I was treated he shrugged his shoulders at me and I said you mean to say you don’t care ? He then shook his head NO I asked the other gentleman if there was a Manager I found out this uncaring heartless person was the Manager I cannot believe a Christian Bookstore would employ such a heartless unfeeling person as he was I told him he should be ashamed of himself treating another person the way he treated me Shame on you young man you are a disgraceful representation of not only a store manager but a human being during this Christmas Season My hope for you is prayers because at your young age if that’s how you treat people now I feel very sorry for you in the future
Amazing selection at reasonable prices. Staff friendly and helpful! But...not THE place to go if you're in a hurry...lol...I could easily spend an entire day there...and then some!
So grateful to have this little gem right in our own backyard! The staff are fantastic and we love stopping in and hunting around. Keep up the great work. Blessings.
I love having a Christian book store in the area again. I always have amazing, friendly, and helpful service when I go to the Inspirational Value Centre. They feel like family to me.
