My Dutch husband really enjoyed this show! I got black-Friday, 2-for-1 tickets, perfect for a Dutchman, and was pleasantly surprised on how great the installation was. There was 2 rooms showing the same exact Vincent Van Gogh paintings and same soundtrack. Very enjoyable. We walked to the venue. Valet parking is available. Or take Metro transit bus 10.
If you haven’t seen this exhibit, what are you waiting for?! When you walk in, you can look around at some of the displays they have by the entrance. Then you enter the actual exhibit itself and someone will explain the 2 different sections to you. The best part? The exhibit itself is breathtaking. We spent about an hour or so listening and watching the exhibit from beginning to end a couple times, once in each room. Afterwards, we spent some time in the gift shop. Prices were defiantly on the higher side but I got a cute pin for a decent price. Once you exit the exhibit area, someone handed us each a sunflower which was such a neat souvenir. The worst part? Parking. We had a hard time knowing where to park and accidentally ended up in a line for valet. We paid for it but honestly didn’t know where we would have parked otherwise.
Wow! What an amazing exhibit! If you have not seen it, GO! I love that the art comes alive! The way the layers of some of the paintings come to the surface makes me wonder if the paintings were painted in layers. I really like that we were able to stay for the show as long as we wanted. My sisters and I enjoyed it very much. I plan to go back with my mother-in-law and my daughter, who are both artists. Thank you for all the hard work the team did to make this exhibit happen!
The exhibit is on a 35 minute loop. We stayed for 2 loops. There are benches or you can sit on the floor or stand. We stayed in the larger exhibit room where the art was projected on the floor. It was an incredible experience. The music ebbed and flowed with the art. I wish that we would have relocated to the opposite side of the room for the second loop to see more of the art as there was so much to take in. The gift shop had some great items in every price range.
It was a really interesting place. A 30 minute movie that loops on the wall and it's a work of art. You can stay there as long as you want. Even though we had tickets for a set time we were able to enter just fine a little early. You pick a place and sit to appreciate the beauty of this amazing artist Van Gogh is. I will say that if you are not into art I don't think you will like this place so much. My husband would not understand the point of this exhibit for example and he would think it's overpriced. So that is why I'm giving 4 starts. I though it was beautiful but I can see why ppl wouldn't be so impressive about it
The Van Gogh Experience was amazing - a well designed, multi-media presentation that is projected on all 4 walls and the floor. Mirrored towers help viewers see around the room without having to constantly turn. The musical accompaniment was perfect for the display. Well worth the $, even if you're not an art aficionado. One thing to note: on-site parking is available, but there is an extra $10 charge.
It was beautiful but I give it 4 stars because I don't feel the 30 minute show was worth the $50 plus taxes and fees. I also didn't think they did a good job of communicating there are 2 rooms to view the same show. I would have liked the larger room better and it also had more benches. Not everyone can sit on the floor comfortably, even though they give you a small cushion.
My whole family enjoyed it which includes college and high school students. We watched the whole thing twice from two different locations for unique perspectives. I appreciate the benches in room 2. My wife liked room 1 better less of an assault on her senses but was uncomfortable on the floor.
I can’t say enough good things about our experience at the Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit. The staff was all extremely kind and helpful. They went above and beyond making our experience something we’ll never forget. The lobby itself was a work of art with multiple areas for photo opportunities. There was a smaller room and larger room. We were wowed by the small room. However, walking into the big room we were blown away. We chose a seat on the far end away from the group crowded in the middle. While waiting for the event to start, sunflowers illuminated the walls. It was so peaceful. I was worried about my 12 year old son. He has sensory problems and struggles sitting still. I read that we could leave to the lobby in event of sensory overload. My son sat the entire time and told me he thought it was so cool. We loved the cushions, they were so pretty and comfortable to sit on. We also got beautiful sketchbooks and magnets. Since we were at an event specifically for back to school, they gave us coloring papers with clipboards and colored pencils, all to keep! I was blown away by the generosity and thoughtfulness. I will definitely come again. If you are thinking about coming, do it!
This was a blast, very well organized, friendly folks and just so fun! Beautiful people, great choreograph, easy steps teaching the dances. Love my tiara, rofl. I think the experience could've done a little better with the VIP portion of the experience, more of a way to tell the difference I suppose and maybe, you know, not oversell the VIP section? There were more VIPs than room in the section. But anyways. It was still such a blast!
