One of my favorite place/store which is located at Desjardins complexe. It has variety of high quality products , also ready to eat, highlight products goes to bio-organic, salad bar, prepared food, and recycling of glass and cans. After grocery one can sit and enjoyed beside the vibrant color of fountain with varieties of food courts. Chosen the favorite foodie with your lovely family or friends makes you feel relaxed and fun. I recommend this place for family, friends, single, kids, etc.
Big location in Complexe Desjardins on the René-Lévesque side. Huge gluten free and organic sections, as well as chocolate bars and ready to eat takeout of sushi bowls, salads and hot foods. Quick checkout, clean, spacious, friendly service.
I’ve been buying my groceries here since I moved to this area 3 years ago, and it is always dirty and the staff is very rude at customers. I reported an incident about an elderly man, he was sneezing on his hand and dropping saliva over the products. I understand his situation, but I reported it so they can help him with a mask or antibacterial wipes. It has been over 2 months and the spit is still there, dry and close to fresh products. Another time, a cashier threw my stuff over the aisle, you don’t do that specially to sparkling beverages. I fell twice and hurt my knee because how dirty this place is.
Will remember IGA for the next time I'm in Montreal. They have a great selection of prepared foods, bakery items, produce, cheese, etc. I bought some chocolate-maple truffles made by Heart Industries in Ottowa, and some organic soft maple candies in maple leaf shapes, also made in Canada, to take home as gifts and some for me to enjoy too.
Today while checking out at IGA Complexe Desjardins, which is where I always shop until now, I saw the worst customer service by an employee that I have seen in my 60 years. I was at the self checkout, and a woman was buying some things for her child's birthday and there was a problem with the machine and an employee pretended not to speak English and was very rude. It progressed into the employee yelling at this poor woman and her children. The woman said she would just go to a regular cashier and pay cash, but the employee said you must pay here with your card or leave. Then she told this poor woman and her children to get out. I guess this employee was some kind of a manager, which makes it even worse, as she should have some customer service training. Anyway, I'm sure that poor woman will never be back, and I won't be back. Hopefully, the other people around who witnessed this, and also heard me giving that rude employee a piece of my mind, won't shop there either. After reading some of the other reviews, it appears that management doesn't really encourage good customer service from their employees. Terrible for a national grocery chain!!!
I've been shopping here for a year now, going every weekend, but I decided not to shop here again. I don't expect a smile every visit, but I also don't expect being treated unkindly. The clerk who cashed me out was literally body slamming my groceries onto the counter after scanning them and he complained to me that I should bag quicker because there is no more room to put the scanned items, even though there was still room. There was a huge line, and I blame management for leaving the store so understaffed, with only 2 aisles to check people out, but this is no reason to treat customers like trash. On top of this, since Louise Ménard gave up ownership, the quality of the store has gone down. The variety of products is lame, and some aisles are emptier than others due to them not being stocked promptly, especially on products that have a weekly discount. The store is dirty and fruit flies are flying over the fruit and vegetables, some of which are grossly moldy. The products are not fresh whenever I go and I end up spending money on something that looked okay in store and get moldy/mushy within a few days. I usually don't complain like this because I try to understand circumstances of understaffing and bad management. But I have decided to get my groceries elsewhere from now on. Don't waste your time here - give other stores, even your local stores, some love rather than here, because this store has none to give.
Good stock, has everything available. Supermarket. Sometimes have some discounted products but products are generally costlier compared to out of city super markets like Walmart, Costco but are more personalized and nearby.
This supermarket opens at 8:00 every morning and provides all kinds of ingredients and healthy food needed for three meals a day. There are many choices, and credit card can also be used, so that it is very convenient for customers.
Bought a bag of dog food on 11.24 and noticed after it’s bbd was June 2022. wanted exchange but I already tossed the receipt. the manager basically accused me scam. Over a bag of dog food really? Check the expiration date people.
Extremely rude staff! My friend was here today cos I'm not feeling well so he was trying to videocall me to show me the options! So came one of the "so prepared" members of the staff and forbid him to show me the rotisserie options... extremely rude, thats not how you treat your costumer! I certainly recommend you not do your shopping here! Go to Walmart, they have better trained staff and better prices
