For a place in Griffintown where you'd usually expect the food to be over-priced, Ichiraku Kawaki's quality to price ratio was actually amazing! We had sashimi, a variety of makis and a pork ramen, everything tasted fresh and flavourful. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the ramen was considering their specialty is sushi! Only thing is, they were missing quite a few things on the menu, I'd love to come back to try the uni.
Cozy, well kept, space with a comfortable ambiance. The menu has lots of options but we had the seafood ramen, and veggie ramen. Both were tasty with a great portion for the money, they loaded up the bowls with toppings as well. Overrall great experience would come again!
This is one of the most underrated spots in town, I really can’t emphasise enough what a great restaurant this is. Their food truly truly truly hits the spot, and the fact that it’s a family business is a story the food tells because it has so much love and depth to it. Every single dish I’ve tried in the menu is mind blowing but my hard recommendation would be trying the “Heart” sushi. This place really knows food and the experience is beyond a standard culinary experience, it’s an opportunity to feel unprecedented things through food. I am in LOVE with this place, and so lucky that it’s within 3 minutes of my home, and the prices are incredible!
I ordered a party meal and received several pieces of cheap fish cuts; heated salmon and tuna. The salad contained fake crab and sushi fillings were underwhelming. One would expect a variety of fish on this kind of order. Finally, our edamame order was missing.
It is often the case unassuming places are the best ones and Ichiraku Kawaki in my opinion is one of those keeping the stereotype alive. The food was fantastic, shrimp tempura was cooked very well, shell still crispy even after 10 minutes in the bag, shrimp was extremely tender. Makis were very well made and did not fall apart. It appears to me there are some korean influence in the makis which is great. fantastic place!
Got a vegetarian poke for takeout. Only rice lettuce. I expected the ingredients listed on the menu.
Great small and affordable japanese food in Griffintown Food is reasonably priced and everything is delicious; from the ramen to the sushi, everything is prepared with fresh ingredients and care. I particularly liked the Eel Donburri. Service is friendly. Avocado smoothie also very nice.
Hands down one of the best Japanese restos in Montreal! I happened to find this place when exploring my neighborhood. The restaurant has a very lovely and cozy ambiance with modern decoration style. Staff is courteous and friendly. I ordered several plates and all of them were beyond my expectations. The snow crab poke bowl is a must. Fresh crab meat, delicious rice with the perfect stickiness...everything is so tasty. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone comes to Griffintown.
One of my favorite in town. I was not sure at the beginning cause there’s no pics on the menu. The friendly waitress gave me good suggestion. When each dish arrived my table. Wow wow wow! Can’t wait to go back. Love it!
Pretty good! Got the 30 piece platter and split it among 4 people and it was perfect. Fresh, good portions and filling. Food was great but the atmosphere is a little dark. Wish it was a little brighter inside the restaurant as when we went, it was pretty dark. Small thing but was just my preference. Overall, 5/5.
