I have done my class 5 road test with the examiner Gary today. Gary is a super nice, patient and professional examiner. The examiners I used to have in other test locations barely talk and look very strict. And that made me even more anxious and couldn’t demonstrate my abilities in the test. However, Gary is very friendly and approachable. He is like one of my friends sitting next to me. He provided clear instructions and I was able to follow without a problem! I just feel very lucky to have Gary as my examiner and I would definitely recommend him to all of you guys. At last, I want to say thank you to Gary and all the best to you!
I had my Class 5 road test at this location a few days ago and passed on my first try. My examiner's name was Nick L. and he provided clear instructions from the very beginning and gave me enough time to execute them. He was firm but fair. I highly recommend that anyone who needs to book a road test to use this location. I wish anyone taking their road test here the very best of luck and always drive safe and be confident in your abilities.
Took my road test here and passed on my third try. My examiner was Nick. He was actually the first examiner out of the other exams to make me feel comfortable, and lose some nerves. Thank you for giving me a chance to correct myself and for the light banters, it really helped me get relaxed so I could focus on proper driving and demonstrate to the best of my abilities. I appreciate your help and guidance! For people reading negative reviews, please remember that everyone’s experiences with certain instructors are different, just as it is with everyone’s skill level—so don’t assume! Pleasant experience at this location. Again, thank you!
Examiner told me, "I technically failed", my class 5 road test. Said that, it was because of a rolling stop, there were no other infractions. When I asked which intersection, he did not give me a straight answer. It's obvious the examiner had no legitimate reason to fail me. Cannot help but feel as if he indiscriminately choose to, simply because he could. Other then that, the examiner was polite and professional. ICBC, there needs to be better oversight and accountability. May I suggest dash cameras, that way it's not my word against the examiners. Thx.
Racist examiners as everyone says in comments. Failed class 5 test just because I took right turn on amber light. Especially the asian instructors in my case it was jason . My whole evaluation sheet was empty because I did no mistake except taking right on amber light as the light was initially green and it turned yellow while I was taking right! Exactly they already decide whom to pass or fail. He was rude since the beginning. Most of the Indian people reviews were true that if you are especially Indian they are so biased . Even my driver lesson instructor advised me to change test location as many people mentioned about the racism by these instructors. After one minute of my road test he asked me to pull the car on the road where all the signs were no stop and fire hydrant. And later lied that there was one green sign too . If you really want to have such biased examiners have a video recording of road test so that people don’t have to waste their time explaining their experiences. And ask your examiners to Atleast respond in a nicely way of whatever the person asks. We are paying for the road test Don’t take it for granted . Lol I don’t even no what to improve for my next attempt if they can fail you for one silly thing what they gonna do if you actually make a mistake. I have my friends who chosed another locations who even failed to do parallel parking not completely stopping at stop sign but still able to pass because of the examiner!! The disappointing part is even after so many people complaining about the same issue the supervision doesn’t do anything!
One of the worst centre to go for road test. My instructor was Ben. Went there for class 5 road test. I took right turn on green light after which light turned red but instructor lied that I crossed on red. And for the left turn on T junction, I properly checked that no one was on the crosswalk and one car that was coming from right was far away which instructor also accepted that both the statements are true but said you should have stopped and failed me for this action. Just that he had the power to judge me, he failed me and completed my test just in 20 min. I failed my test earlier also but that was because of my own mistakes and practiced rigorously and I know today I had made no mistakes. The evaluation was unfair and he lied in the evaluation comments. I was in dire need of a license since my wife is pregnant but this kind of unfair and callous evaluation has lost my faith in the icbc processes. I want to challenge this evaluation. I cannot actually afford to wait for 30 more days to get a license. This is excruciating painful even financially. Never go to this centre. No fair judgement can be expected.
Never recommend this test center. They fail my class 7 test just because I drive “too fast” when turning leftI was driving at 20-30km/h when turning left. If you wanna fail your road test especially you are also an asian, come to Richmond test center, I can guarantee you will easily fail every road test. Good luck everyone. Plus: the examiner is from Hong Kong, I don’t wanna say her name, but the reason she fail my road test is really farfetched, it just sounded like she wanted me to fail so she just made up some reasons and then say” I’m sorry, you didn’t pass the test”. I think next time I turn left, I should get off the car and pull the car over the intersection in case driving “too fast“ will scare the front passenger.
Gary is a really professional and patient examiner. The instruction he gave to me was clear. This is not my first time to take road test, after I didn’t pass last time,I went back home and focus on the weakness that the examiner point out. That’s really help me a lot! And I passed my class5 road test today!
Gonna go full Karen mode on this one. I am absolutely ballistic and furious. My front windshield was fogging up and I told him I couldn’t see and my instructor said “wE weNt oVer tHis iN tHe BeginNing” like wow ok, the audacity, is it too much to ask for you to repeat what you said in the beginning? I don’t think he even told me his name. My instructor said I was “too careful.” Of course, I understand that being too careful is not good, but when there is incoming traffic that is going pretty fast and I’m told to make a left turn, wouldn’t it be wise to I don’t know? Maybe wait for the cars to go by then make my turn? Is he trying to get me into a car crash? Not to mention, he said I made it over the white line on the stop sign?? No, I know for a fact I didn’t. The only time I go over is when I wait 3 seconds to stop and then inch out to see if there is any cars. I understand that I went past 30 in a school zone and that lead to my fail, but I’m absolutely saddened and disagree with some of the factors he tells me I need to work on. The only thing my instructor did right was being the most unlikable person I have ever met.
Went to do my road test today and had a great experience with Spencer. He had patience and explained the instructions really well. Thank you so much assistance today.
