Well what can I say, This is by far the best camping experience we have had in a long time. We were nestled in between two apple trees for our 5 day vacation and we had the perfect view of the amazing sunsets overlooking the water, the campground was very clean and quiet, the sites were roomy, shower and washrooms were super clean. I made sure to have at least one swim a day in the warmest water ever. Our dog Louie even made dog of the week. The owners are super friendly and always around if you need them. They certainly work hard to maintain such a beautiful gem not to far from our home, we will definitely be back again soon, Thank you for our amazing vacation*****
What a wonderful experience! My husband & I, both recently retired, spent 5 weeks this fall at Hyclass and could not have had a more relaxing time. Dave and Valerie are the best. They took excellent care of everyone through a hurricane, power outage, as well as a flood! Hyclass Ocean Campground is a great place to enjoy nature's beauty...the sunsets are gorgeous! Everything is clean and well taken care of by the owners. If you are traveling to Nova Scotia this is the place to stay. Looking forward to staying again soon. Lorraine Eddy Lo
Among the best of the places we've stayed. The lots were decently sized, reasonably level and clean. Although we didn't really have a view of the water because of the trees, it was a very short walk to the waterfront. The water was a comfortable 22 or 23, and calm, which I hear is pretty common there because it's a sheltered area. I highly recommend swim shoes if you're planning on going swimming. The washrooms are clean. It was quiet and peaceful. The owners are very nice and helpful, and very responsive. I've found that whenever the owners are helpful the whole experience is positive. I would certainly recommend this place without hesitation.
We traveled to attend a family reunion in Steep Creek. A last minute decision, because of circumstances, we weren't sure we could travel. After one phone call, we knew we were going to stay here and excited to go. From the moment we arrived, until we departed a day later than planned because we were so relaxed, we enjoyed every single moment. We had a beautiful site, the atmosphere was wonderful and the owners were spectacular. The little on-site store had all we needed, the park was meticulously clean and noticeably peaceful and quiet. I've traveled across Canada to multiple campgrounds and this little gem was top notch, comparable to provincial parks. It's clear the owners truly LOVE what they're doing and it shows in how they're working and developing this little piece of paradise. I read one review where it stated the bathrooms were outdated, but I strongly disagree. When I walked in to see them, spotlessly clean, the vibrant colors made me smile.. I felt nostalgic and reminded of many happy childhood memories. The world needs more places like this for people to literally stop and smell the roses. The wifi was great, but honestly, that's the last thing I wanted to get on once we settled. Hats off to this beautiful spot. We DEFINITELY will return.
Our family stayed there on our vacation and everyone really enjoyed it. It is very quiet, well maintained, and has a great beach access although rocky, not sandy and canoe rentals which really added to the stay. Our kids had so much fun and it was nice and peaceful. We will be back for sure.
Sharon & I stumbled across Hyclass Ocean Campground by accident while touring Nova Scotia. We were beyond pleased with the initial contact. Very informative and helpful. We planned on booking for one night tent site and ended up staying two nights in there wonderful newly renovated cabin#2. The cabin was so clean, comfy and the bed beyond comfortable. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer. Would we return. A definite YES. Would we recommend A Definite Yes. Hyclass Ocean Campground is a gem in Nova Scotia and well worth the trip. Thank you for making our tour and stay with you guys well worth it. We hope to return some day. Sharon & Alan
A very nice Campground just off the beaten path. The grounds and facilities were spotless and its easy to see this place is the owners pride and joy. We stayed for a night at one of the serviced sites in a tent and found it to be very quiet. The site itself was treed on both sides giving some decent privacy. Located right on the ocean a walk along the shore at sunset will offer some beautiful views. The only issue I personally had was the bathroom stall walls are only 5 feet high to if your taller than that you'll easily come face to face with you neighbors in the adjacent stalls and easily make awkward eye contact with anyone one else in the bathroom. Besides that little quirk its an amazing spot and we plan on staying again. Thanks!!
Absolutely gorgeous site. Highly recommend it. Spacious, stunning views, and wonderful owners. The signage coming into the camp grounds making it easy to find And super friendly owners. Just love it and wish we stayed longer. I cannot say enough about it and highly recommend it.
Very average. I wouldn't stay again. My first site was impossible to level trailer even with levellers. My second was a pull through that had to be backed out because utilities on the wrong side of trailer. Internet is non-existent and washrooms are in dire need of an update. Charges for showers as well and check-out is too early. Most are 1:00 and this was 11:00. The tent sites are the nicest in the campground.
The campground is beautiful. The water is clean. So enjoyed the Northumberland Strait swim. The camp is relaxed, well kept and owners so warm. We booked expecting a nice experience, it was wonderful. We met campers who rebook every few months and I now I know why. We only wish we lived close enough, we would do the same.
