A brief note for the HSBC bank manager, 131 Queen street Ottawa . 25min to complete one simple bank withdrawal at the Queen street HSBC branch Wed’ 26th April 2023@16:00hrs could be a world counter service banking record ?. As the only customer in the branch with 3 staff to carry out a single small, simple withdrawal my premier account still contains 120 times the requested withdrawal sum I made a guess at 10min’s for the entire transaction after producing my HSBC bank card ?. The younger female member of staff went on to request two further items of ID drivers license with ID photo, health card with ID photo. With my premier bank card in hand 15mins’ slow one finger keyboard work ensued behind the counter. The slightly taller more mature dark-haired, female member of staff, then requested a third piece of ID specifically attached to one of my overseas bank accounts ?.I would have hoped that my premier bank card was more than sufficient on all occasions for small in person transactions ?. The requested denominations were counted out at a snails pace, and slowly deliberately placed in an un requested envelope . The parking facilities which used to be provided across the street are no longer Included in the services of this branch . The parking proved expensive from the 25min’ debacle delaying into the rush-hour and unsurprisingly I was late for my final meeting that day . I would comment that over the past 20 years my dealings with the financial office non-counter staff at this branch have been commendably excellent . However the counter service at my other banks is often fast, practised and admirable when I require specific denominations of banknotes, rather than a handful of $20 bills from the atm .While I understand it is necessary to train new staff from time to time, a 25min, processing time involving a single minor transaction could be considered incompetent at any level of customer service, let alone that which aims to provided a premiere account service ?. I’ve been doing business with them as a Premier customer since early 2022 and they always welcome me warmly and lots of them can serve me in my mother tongue and official language, French. I get along with all of their staff and feel they are always ready to go the extra mile to help me out with my financial needs. They understand me and treat me as a valued customer. This is so far my best banking experience ever and absolutely love this bank.
One of the best banks out there, I don't understand why people leaving such low review scores, but I respect everyone has their own banking experiences. The teller I were talking to, xintong, was professional, extremely easy to talk to, and cared unlike some other major banks I dealt with in the past. I am even considering moving my TD merchant account towards HSBC, great work.
Marie Claude called to cancel app last min. Advised to call back call center to reschedule another app. Still on line 15 min. Hoped Marie Calude would have booked another appointment for me to make it easier and welcome me as a new client. Client service very low disappointed
I rarely write reviews but i was so frustrated i thought other people should know how inefficient they banking system is, as well the employees do not seee to know the process as well so i had to go back 4 times for a simple setup!! they forgot to have forms filled out. i have always had to go back multiple times because they forgot something. so frustrating!! if there was a zero rating i would give it a zero!!
That is the worst experience in my life with a mortgage. For 2 months, all was good then a day before closing, HSBC told me no financing anymore. My credit score is 870! I went there for the interest rate! What a mistakle! Never never never again. People be warned! I went through the mortgage center. I will grade a zero on 5!
There was a time when it was pleasant to visit the bank. Our agent was so kind, she even had gifts for us. Now It is like they are making you a favor to accept the interest you pay them for the mortgage.
The customer service representative I had today was amazing. Her name was Lena. She was efficient, professional, and extremely kind. She should get promoted!
The measure of any bank comes when a customer /a"premier bank customer" in this case, asks to speak to the bank manager : an aspect of the service etc. In 10 yrs I have asked to speak to the manager ...twice and both times been fobbed off with excuses; not in ; not available.Not in at 11:00 on a weekday. Good service ; good banking begins and should end with the manager.
Had an appointment to open an account and somehow they had no record of it. When I insisted on seeing someone, they had me sit with Jia Si Shen. She seemed to be doing everything in her power to dissuade me from open up a USD account with HSBC. She was rude, condescending, and a limited understanding of Canadian laws surrounding a bank's responsibility to provide Canadian citizens with banking needs. Also dealt with under-trained tellers, rude front office manager, and ultimately decided to take my business elsewhere.
