Howard Johnson Inn Appleton

I enjoyed my stay at Howard Johnson in Appleton. I was there with my family, Wife and 3 kids. We chose the 2 Queen beds room. Even though it seemed larger in the picture, it was still spacious. The room was clean and well maintained. The amenities were as advertised and well maintained. I received excellent service from the start. I would stay there again and I would recommend it to others who wish to stay in Appleton.

When we made our reservation, we asked for handicap room which was unfulfilled. The room that my parents stayed in had 1 safety bar and the bed was blocking part of the entrance into the room, that made it really hard for my mom on her walker to get in there. We also asked for a room close to or down the hall for me because as her PCA , I needed to be close. I ended up on the second floor. We also went to try and soak in the hot tub, but it was broken with caution tape all around. Based on the past reviews, it's been broken for a couple months which is insane!! The pool was a grayish color. The continental breakfast was put out as a after thought, and I HATED the fact that it felt like the front desk staff was policing you if you wanted to bring a cup of juice out. Definitely won't be back

When I first arrived they didn't realize that I made a reservation a week ahead of time. Or that I requested a late check out. They TAKE $100 DEPOSIT Off YOUR CREDIT CARD ahead of time just in case of damages!! This is when you get there so it was a big surprise!!The HOT TUB did not work properly!!! My room smelled musty, there was snot on my headboard and one on the shower wall and had mold!! On the positive side the staff is friendly, breakfast is AWESOME, and the decorations are nice!!

DO NOT EVER STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!! SOMEONE'S SHAVED BODY HAIR IN SHOWER AND Tasha AT FRONT DESK SAID SORRY NO REFUNDS. She didn't even have housekeeping clean it!!!! I should have washed it off. 😨😲😠

Beds were comfortable. Air conditioning worked very well. Continental breakfast was good. Toilet in room needs to be serviced - water kept running. Evening check in receptionist were not very friendly.
