Not friendly at the door. 1 person got greeted when 2ofUs came in. Server is the same. We requested low salt sodium on our meal because the last time. We got sick. Food looked good. Calamari , smelts. But the taste was very salty still. & the spicy beef tenderloin tasted fake beef and too pricey. Not photo here.
Wow! Gluten and dairy free! Amazing place! Get there early and ready to eat! Let them know your food allergies and they are very aware of cross contamination. GF soy sauce available!Food: 5/5
We were excited to try this place since the ratings were great and they have several awards but after we were seated we became invisible. The table that was seated before us got their drinks and order in. Thought we'd get help when the waiter looked right at me while taking their order when I showed him our menu. NOPE. The people on our right received their food and were almost done. The people on the left received their egg rolls, placed their order and received their food. We were still waiting for someone to acknowledge us. We tried to get the attention of the host pretty sure he couldn't hear us with his ear buds in so we tried to get attention of a waiter. At that point we left. Extremely disappointing.
The food was OK, but for the price it wasn’t worth it. I can get takeout at a really good Chinese food places near me for 1/2 the price I paid and have two days of leftovers. The tea was very good, The people were very nice but if you’re looking for a deal, this is not it.
My husband and I loved it! I believe we met the owner tonight. She was very nice. We enjoyed it here and will be back! We had to find a new spot after our local Bolingbrook spot closed. Generous portions for sure! We left feeling stuffed. And I loved that someone came out and boxed our to go! Recommend!
Delicious food. Love the steamed stuffed tofu. My husband loves th e Bedf gon chow. Our favorite Chinese restaurant
Have been getting house of emperor takeout and dine in for several years. The last two times 2022, the food was horrible in comparison to prior experience. Very disappointing for a place that used to be reliably great quality.
First time here, after our decades-long favorite recently closed. Not a fan. The food here is ridiculously salty. The fried rice was close to hitting the mark, but the crazy amount of crunchy raw individual peas was not good along with the 'cooked-ness' of the rest of the rice. Beef Kow should really be called 'Pea Pod Kow with beef' - as there were about 6 times as many pea pods as there was actual meat. The broth of the wonton soup was definitely too salty, but I will say the wontons themselves were very tasty. No issues with any of the staff or service, which was quick & friendly - and probably the only reason for a 3 instead of a 2 star rating - but we really did not care for the food.
We've loved House of Emperor for over 10 years now, I think. We used to live in the neighborhood and ordered from them quite a bit. Then we moved to the N. Suburbs and still managed to drive down often to get pick-up from them and one other beloved restaurant nearby. And then we moved out of state, like way out of state and several states away and we *still* come back to them whenever we're back in town! The service is wonderful everytime, the food is the best. Native San Franciscan here, so I consider myself pretty well versed in Chinese food. I have recently fallen in love with salt & pepper tofu and have found no better than theirs. Please help keep them open so I can visit everytime I'm back in town!
The prices are double what I was expecting. That may have been ok if the food was any good. I ordered a large Kong Pao beef and received a small. The Kong Pao Beef was cold when I got it and the green peppers were raw and super crunchy. Terrible. Pot stickers were NOT good...the dough has a grainy strange texture. Also Ordered egg drop soup and received hot and sour soup. Do yourself a favor to your taste buds and wallet go to Chinese Kitchen on Ogden instead...you will pay about half and it is really excellent food unlike here. Never again coming here.
