Stayed here over the weekend with my wife. Room was nice although the bathroom door doesn't afford much privacy when travelling with someone.nnI will point out that the staff were very friendly. In particular Oksana was super accommodating when I had a unique request. She immediately contacted someone to assist me and that type of service goes a long way to making for a great stay.
It works for a night but I wouldn’t come back. Started off not being able to get early check in, staff was stand offish with that as well. Whenever asked at previous hotels, staff is always willing to at least try. Staff here just said no. They were “working on a free upgrade” which turned out to be a room on a higher floor..?nThe room was okay, relatively clean. Bed was comfortable however there’s no fitted sheet, so you’re wrestling with a flat sheet that gets messed up all night.nThe bathroom is probably the worst. No proper latching door, saloon style doors that don’t lock. Ours was broken as well. The shower door leaks and floods the floor, bringing along all the crud that’s caked along the seals of the shower. The products provided were actually quite nice, not an overbearing lemongrass scent, nice argan oil.nClose to the mall is nice and having a Starbucks in there is great.nOtherwise would only recommend if you’re in a pinch.
The accessibility of their accessible room is a problem. The wheel in shower flooded everywhere and out the door. A huge mess and dangerous situation temporarily. An architectural failure. The drain is flat on the floor lol.nThen there is Rajugana from the front desk. The nicest, accommodating person I have ever met. Helpful beyond words. A true gentleman and professional. He got us another room , although it was not accessible , it didn’t flood.nDennis in the main dining room was a nice, sincere and interesting person. He knew his bar tending craft like the professional he is. Great guy. Friendly and helpful.nThe housekeeping team were also warm and friendly and did excellent work. As a former room attendant back in the day, I could really appreciate their efforts.
Location is just about the only thing going for this hotel. I stay in about 200 nights in hotels per year and rarely review these hotel but the service experience here is really lacking. Staff is approachable but it seems like they are not given sufficient tools to do their jobs. They cannot provide early check in time estimates and staff couldn’t produce a receipt for hotel charges. Any other extraneous service requests are met with confusion. And they are not very quick. The rooms themselves were very basic. There is no waiting or general area other than the lobby area. The overall experience of the hotel really is very basic and not terribly customer proactive or well executed. I’d recommend staying at another Marriott brand over this hotel.
Walking distance from Square One Mall. We had the Residential suite, it comes with the kitchenette and it was of great help and convenience, there should be dishing washing liquid/ detergent provided or put whenever the room was cleaned we always had to call and ask for it. Also, there were only 2 mismatched spoons, no fork and 1 butter knife, 2 big plates and 2 tea cups without the saucers tea cups were dirty and put in the cabinet, would like if a little more cutlery was added. The rooms and beds were clean. Swimming pool was good. Having Starbucks inside the hotel was a great plus, although would love if it was 24 hours. Also, if possible please add bidets to the washrooms. But overall we loved our stay. The reception staff was amazing. I don't remember all the names but they all were extremely good. Whenever we come to Mississauga again, will surely stay here.
