Hotel Newstar

Front desk ladies were sweet and attentive. The room had a STRONG cigarette smell, the room doors don't have the deadbolt lock so we were a bit uncomfortable, and the A/C was leaking we never complained to the front desk so it's not their fault it wasn't checked, we ended up putting a bucket to catch the water. The kitchen is not equipped, so is not that useful. Room was clean, and beds were comfy. The shower looks a little ugly as shown in another review, but it was super clean and worked perfectly. They cut the water at around 11am or something like that 2 different times that we noticed. We asked for more towels and the nice lady at the front desk sent somebody right away! We didn't really try the breakfast here so no comments on that. Location is pretty good, Cafe Milano is a great place for coffee and pastries and Gallo Nero Restaurant Trattoria was AMAZING for lunch and/or dinner. Overall is a good place to stay at for the price and location.

For budget-conscious travelers in Montreal, this hotel offers excellent value for money and is ideally located.nnThe room with two double beds includes a small open kitchen with a stovetop, perfect for preparing simple meals. The bathroom is clean and well-maintained, and the air conditioning works perfectly.nnThe reception is open 24/7, and the staff is friendly and helpful, always ready to offer advice on getting around the city or recommending nearby restaurants.

Room are in very bad situation.nMoisture, cleanness, dirty, uncomfortable.nCoffee machine is not working, bed are very bad ! Very bad smell coming out from bathrooms.nnService, very bad reception. Lady who supposed to be a supervisor is not considering customer complaints neither coming to discuss correctly as a supervisor.nnPrices, very expensive comparing to what you can find in other places and apps.nnTo sum, I do not recommend this hotel.

Loved this stay. The only complain I have is that they should add more locks to the door for security. Also there we people smoking in the rooms at some point our room stank of cigarettes. There was also people smoking in the stairs. But this happened 1 night we stayed for a week. They have hair dryer towels extra garbage bags they have good working AC beds were clean room was fresh.

We stayed here for three nights this weekend. While checking in we asked for room cleaning service for the stay. We went out first day and came back, the rooms were not cleaned at all. We complained, they said the room will get cleaned the next day. However, it didn’t happen. We complained again, they offered discount but while checking out, they said manager is not available, u can write an email. We called to talk to manager and they didn’t transfer the call to the manager. This kind of experience is frustrating.
